probably the best way is to go to

and download the buildOS and just mess around with it...but you are gonna have to learn programming stuff and registry stuff...with the buildOS you can build a rom but it isn't going to be anywhere near the current ones as most the chefs know about programming and stuff that is essential to building an amazing rom.
