ICEM/\N to the rescue...lol....here should be the solution for you below...follow my instructions to the "T."

-reformat the internal storage with your computer. (hook up the phone to the computer and select "hard drive" rather than "ActiveSync", right click on the drive letter that appears and select Format.

This only works "smoothly" with Vista operating computers for some reason because I have heard that with windows XP operating computers the PC would just keep locking up and giving errors. But some people have had luck with XP operating computers. (BTW - quick format will not work and you want to format it as FAT32)

Now just for anyone that wants to know why this keeps happening is because the issue is that the internal card is being erased but not reformatting again...the hotfix works for Sprint devices but does according to this Wckediden member it is not working on his GSM device, so this should fix the issue for you...post results within this thread!

and here are some more detailed instructions for those not computer savy or who have issues and no success with my instructions above...lol:

1. connect your phone to the pc and choose the disk drive option instead of active sync. Open the computer folder and u should see only one option as as external drive or something like it.

2. right click on the folder and see it's properties.

3. U should be able to see that it still has its 3.7g memory showing. If not u will see it on the next topic.

4. Right click on the storage folder and choose the option FORMAT.

5. U will do the full format of that storage not the quick one. So far u should see on the format window that the 3.7 g is there right?

6. If not disconnect the phone and connect to the pc again till u see it.

7. Once u start formating it will take about 10 to 15 min to finish. Don't touch your phone till it ends, just leave it connected to the pc.

8. Once it is done...go to check where u usually saw the NOT INSTALLED stupid message and find out that the 4g is back. It should be ,if not soft reset your phone.

9. Its not over yet. It will show internal memory 2 now and on the device information on your phone it still not reconize the 4g on the internal storage list on HARDWARE. thats ok for now.

9.5 This below step may not be necessary depending on whether ur issue is fixed by now...

10. Now u will perform the HARD RESET on your phone using the clear storage option on settings. Pick the Clear storage and format internal storage option before typing 1234. now once u started the hard reset it shows a quick error message as unable to locate storage or something like it. Don't worry about it. Once the phone start up again go to the device information and see it is back to normal and there is not internal storage2 anymore ,only internal storage. Now u are back in business again.I hope this information helped u!
