I've wasted many hours trying to avoid requesting very specific support from you.

I successfully unlocked my VX6900 using Cokeman's 3.21 unlocker.

I flashed the phone using the RUU in Dash's signature and the Vogue_4350_ALLTEL_WWE_3.04.671.2 vogueimage.nbh successfully but let customizations run.

Then I tried to flash with a custom ROM or two downloaded here for the HTC Touch (and the same RUU utility in Dash's signature file) amd let customizations run.

When trying to make calls, received "could not authenticate" voice error. Attempted *228, 1 and failed. Called Verizon and they were able to get phone dialing out and receiving calls.

But #777's Data Network Connect would not connect to the data network. I verified the username as [ten digit number]@vzw3g.com and pword as vzw. Hard and soft resets. Subsequent successful *228 programming attempts. Verizon attemped a "DMU Reset." We tried adding an A code. Trouble ticket and many hours later, Verizon is sending a new phone.

But I'd like to understand what I did or why the instructions I've found and followed have not worked so that I don't repeat the same mistakes with the new phone OR I'll avoid needing it and can send it back and fix my first and already opened phone.

Can you please help?

Lastly, looking at site-supported custom ROMs, there are slim pickings for the Vogue. Where is the Vista theme custom ROM in the Youtube video for the modded Vogue? Or the black vista theme one can read about online? Can you link to the best custom ROM for the Vogue in general (most proven bug free)?

Thank you!

Josh
roms are all personal choice so look through them all and you will be fine... for the authentification that automatic after every hard reset on a verizon ppc... and for the internet all you have to do is install the verizon dcd carrier cab and than soft reset and your net settings will be there.
