Your gonna have to find a rom that has the initial boot screen cooked in. There are not to many that are that way. If you want, you can download ppckitchen and cook a default minimal ROM with the bootscreen you want, then flash it. That will have your selected boot screen stuck in your phone until you flash another ROM that cooked in a custom boot screen.
i had this issue and had to flash to one of JD's ROMs as mighty, juicy, juggs and stock didnt work..
