just an fyi the only time I ever got the update profile to work was right after I activated my phone and it needed to update to get my data working so I think it is only for if you need it updated to get data to work (don't quote me cause I really have no idea what it does, this is just my conjecture) also, the prl updated helps you find a different tower to get a better signal and I believe that if it doesn't update then there are no better towers in range.
Ok thanks for the info, I still can't update the radio, or flash back to stock(to see if then I can update the radio), not sure what's the problem, when i flashed to "SsS-ROMv0117" everything was a breeze.
