sounds like you are in need of a hard reset...... back up all your contacts and the other important things using an app like pimbackup and see if that clears up the issues for you than do your hard reset.
i concur with my ppc colleague. Hard reset. If not that flash a custom if you haven't already.. Take the plunge.
