I have installed the "Awake on Talk" cab b/c I'm tired of having my screen go blank during a call and having to hit the button to activated it but the app does not seem to work so well for me. The screen still goes blank. Is anyone else having this problem and is there another app that does this?

Did u install it on ur device and not the storage card ? And did u try a soft reset after the install
