wait for a chip he wont do it.... you can have normal wear and tear on the phone.... as long as it doesnt look like you hammered a nail through it a chip wont matter.... i would go in there and tell the manager what that clown said and tell the boss about the horrible experience and lack of willingless to help due to having to write a ticket up.
