Ok I need a little help. My gf just bought me the PS3 80gb on ebay for $290 on August 30th....before the slim dropped. It hasn't arrived yet but she has already paid. I dont know why you bought it on ebay when they dropped the price of the 80gb brand new in retail stores for just $299.99 like 2 weeks or more before slim dropped...lol...then you could have chose to return it within 30 days if you bought it from somewhere like best buy even if it was open....you gotta be more precise with your purchases...and you could only make a claim on ebay if item you received was not like explained on that sellers auction page...but if it was just like it was advertised along with no return policy (all sales finalpolicy) ...than I am sorry to say that you have no other option...
