all roms from time to time will need to be hard reset no matter what..... there is registry that programs installed can change, normal errors, corrupt files and much much more on top of the obvious that can cause lag.... i would def try a hard reset or flash to a new rom if you like...... its completely your call but i can almost promise you without a doubt that you jsut need that and it isnt your device that is acting up.
