The problem is a little hard to explain: When I go to type a text or email, the letters I am typing show up on the screen where they are supposed to but the also show up in the black box above it(circled in red). I have word completion turned off, spell correction, word completion in T9 mode and word completion in ABC all turned off. It is not suggesting words or trying to correct anything, it puts whatever I am typing in that black box, but it makes it difficult to correct errors once you have typed it.

I would like to get rid of the black bar, is this possible?
is that a custom rom or stock? and also have you gone to the otehr keyboard on the phone and make sure that the toggle switch for t9 isnt on t9 but ABC
