big ups ive used most of this method in the past just threw trial/error but ive never used the rice i usually just use a 100% pure alchol and the back of the tv but i put it off to the side where the heat is not direct and the what i do is like you said TAKE THE BATTERY OUT ASAP ive found that alot of time the killer is leaving the battery or power source conneceted and that kills the mother board by try to restart and over and over again also ive found that most phones are tuffer than they look or one might think so sometimes i just get air and blow it out after breaking it down and then i let dry and i put a new battery or power source and it's good but sometimes i have to go all the way i break everything down i take the alchol and i soak the whole main in the alchol and then i take q-tips and wash or wipe off the place where i can see the metal starting to corode(dont think i spelled that right ) and im careful not to leave cotton on the board or connecetions then i let dry overnight and BADA BING BADA BANG IT A GO
