ok. now that i know where the problem came from, i followed Dash's advice and went to the source. Upon re-reading the post by GoodThings2Life at ppcgeeks, i see that this problem was forseen and a solution as well( other than the registry change i previously gave):

This was on the first post which i remember reading but until i experienced the problem, didnt recall. It wasnt until i was on xda where someone pointed out that the problem was rooted in this tp2 tweak. I guess for now i can live with this minor inconvenience until new roms are cooked for tp2/cdma seeing that i like how my tp2 is at the moment with the tweaks.
