I went ahead and got PDANet. Works great on the stock rom.
I never did get the zip files to open/install. No idea what was up with that.
Guess it's a Vista 64 bit thing.

naw i have vista ultimate 64 bit and so does kaos and we dont have any troubles... it is internet explorer i can promise you.... if you use firefox you will have no trouble... just download through firefox and test what i say above and i promise it will work.
