Samsung is rolling out a new software update to the
Galaxy Tab S9 FE 5G. It offers the
December 2024 security patch, which fixes several security issues that you can check out
here.
At the moment, Samsung has made the new firmware available only for the carrier-locked variant of the tablet for the United States, which has the model number SM-X518U. The new software update carries firmware version
X518USQS8BXK6.
You can get it by navigating to
Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also download it from
SamMobile’s Firmware section and install it using Odin. Make sure to backup your data before going the manual method.
We expect Samsung to roll out the new update to other variants of the Galaxy Tab S9 FE 5G in the next few days. So, if you live outside the US, you won't have to wait for too long.
Speaking of software updates, it is worth mentioning that the tablet is eligible to get Android 15-based
One UI 7.0, which offers a ton of new features. You can learn more about the new software in our video below.
