Rss Feed Samsung’s dissing on the iPhone Air with a phone its likely killed off

Samsung has a history of making fun of Apple's products to highlight the capabilities of its own devices. It has posted a trio of ads on Instagram dissing on the iPhone Air while comparing it with the Galaxy S25 Edge.

The ads come amid reports that the Galaxy S25 Edge hasn't sold as well as the company may have hoped, and that may be the reason why there might not be a Galaxy S26 Edge next year.

Galaxy S25 Edge may be the last of its kind, but that doesn't matter

The first ad takes a shot at the 48-megapixel camera of the iPhone Air, called “Other Slim Phone” which is presented as no match for the Galaxy S25 Edge's 200-megapixel sensor. It shines a spotlight on the Edge's ability to take ultra-wide shots as well, something the slim iPhone can't do.

The second ad compares the same photo taken by the devices side by side to showcase the images taken by the Edge are sharper in comparison. The third ad shows the Edge's ability to deliver more dramatic slow motion effects, closing off the series with a not so subtle “Edge wins” declaration.

This isn't the first time Samsung has mocked the iPhone Air, but whether this strategy has done anything to spur sales is anybody's guess. The Galaxy S25 Edge isn't alone in struggling to gain traction in the market, reports suggest that iPhone Air sales have been less than impressive as well, with Apple reportedly cutting its production target for the device.

While recent reports have suggested that Samsung continues have a slim phone in the pipeline for 2026 which it may decide to launch if the market conditions are favorable, or if Apple decides to launch an iPhone Air successor.

For now, though, it continues to elevate the Galaxy S25 Edge at the iPhone Air's expense.
