Rss Feed Galaxy Watch 4 series starts getting One UI 8 Watch update globally
Last week, Samsung released the One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in South Korea. Earlier today, the update reached the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in the USA. Now, the update has started reaching select smartwatches in the Galaxy Watch 4 lineup globally.



The Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch update is now rolling out to the non-cellular variants of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in Asia (including India) and Europe. The smaller version of the smartwatch is getting the update with firmware version R880XXU1JYK4, while the update for the bigger variant carries firmware version R890XXU1JYK4.



It is a 1.7GB update and includes the October 2025 security patch. If you have a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and live in any of the regions mentioned above, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings > Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also install the update via the Wearable app on your phone.










The One UI 8 Watch update brings a redesigned UI, ability to create custom Tiles using widgets, Double Pinch gestures for more actions, redesigned notifications view, and an easier way to respond to notifications. It also brings a new grid layout and a list layout for the app drawer.



Another new feature the new update brings to the Galaxy Watch 4 series is Now Bar. It shows all the ongoing activities, such as music player, timer, stopwatch, and workout. The new software also brings Bedtime Guidance and Mindfulness features.



One UI 8 Watch is likely the last major software update for the Galaxy Watch 4 series. The watches in the lineup launched in mid-2021 with Wear OS 3 and One UI Watch 3.0 onboard.
