free yahoo mail
Hey guys, I've been trying to figure out if it's possible to use a free yahoo mail account on the Diamond. I could've sworn that I had it working with the stock ROM, but have since gone over to MightyROM 4.2. As it is right now, I can receive mail.. but can not send any.
If anyone has found a working setup, please let me know. Thanks in advance. Regards, Squee |

Re: free yahoo mail
Yes, it does. It says "The messages(s) could not be sent. Please check that you have network coverage and that your account information is correct. Then try sending again."
Incoming is working just fine with imap settings. I've tried the following outgoing settings to no avail: Code:
smtp.mail.yahoo.com smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com I'm half tempted to revert back to the stock ROM just so that I can access my damn e-mail. lol What are your incoming/outgoing server settings? Thanks in advance. |

Re: free yahoo mail
Default? I never specified a port. Is there a specific one I should be using?
--------- New Post Merged on 26/1/2009 at 01:39:13 -------- Well, apparently it's just hit or miss. I tried some settings which had failed before, and they worked this time. smtp.mobile, with no specified port. Last edited by Squee; 01-26-2009 at 02:39 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Re free yahoo mail
"Hit or Miss" really does defines this issue. Over the past week or so, I lost the ability to send mail again. I took this as an opportunity to go from the NRG rom over to the Gadget rom. Rather than solve my problems, it added another:
Now, not only can I not send mail.. but I also have lost the ability to view new mail, too. Send/Receive returns the following: "Cannot connect to the incoming mail server. Be certain that your login information is correct, then try again to send and receive mail." I went through all the trouble-shooting steps I usually do. I can assure you that my login details are correct, as are my incoming/outgoing servers (imap.mail.yahoo.com / smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com). Even if they were incorrect, I've tried multiple different variations and had no such luck. Someone, please, give me some input! Thanks. |
