HTC Touch Pro vs Visual Voice Mail

So, I got this HTC Touch Pro and so far I love the phone. I've been able to download almost everything I want....EXCEPT for some type of Visual Voice Mail software.

I've run across PhoneFusion which caused me some "Phone Confusion". Needless to say, I got it on there, but the interface isn't all that good.

Does ANYONE know of a Visual Voice Mail software that is free that I can download and works well with Windows? I know YouMail is nice, but it's not available for Alltel (Verizon) yet -- still waiting on THAT to go through.

If there is a Visual Voice Mail software that doesn't cost a lot, I'll look at that as well. Thanks so much for your help.

Please post a member Intro so staff and members can get to know you and provide you with info on everything youll need to know on navigating the site and your device... there is a search engine here... please get aquinted w/ it.. typin in visual voicemail, or whatever you are looking for will bring up lots of compatible option that we have available for your use... its all a matter of prference so read through them and decide which you prefer best... thanks

hey guys, we cant move everything to the bin and for staff we move irt to the correct asrea so why cant this be done to help out members..... i know they have to learn but come on we are here to help... not angry with yall so please dont think that but imagine if you were a noob and posted in the incorrect area by accident and than were closed dow or ahd your thread moved to where you couldnt see it anymore asnd had no clude why..... you would think the site is bunk and move on..... we want members here to stay and not leave us so we all as a group have to work on this together...... ok rant done and moving to the touch pro area and reopening......

to answer your question there really isnt much out as of yet for visual voicemail but trust me we are keeping out eyes peeled and we will be one of the first to have it or any info on release dates so stay tuned.

I feel where you coming from... I didnt mean to come of angry at the member... i was just tryna encourage him to use and get used to the search engine, didnt mean to delete thread... just though itd be close but he could see the response and encouragement to check out the search engine... still didnt mean to come off as being short with him...

I know dash has gone over the fact that there isnt much available but I figured I would just give a little WHY THE EFF NOT?! info. lol. the way visual voicemail works, say on the instinct...is that it actually doesn't use Sprint's Voicemail service at all, the voicemails are kept on a seperate server that was intended for the instinct only. The reason you can play, ffwd, rwd your voicemails is because they are just audio files put on the server. Regular Sprint voicemail works as a call service, so you actually have to call it and it just plays a recording, so no direct access to the files. So this leaves us with two choices, either A) make a program that overrides the voicemail and stores locally on the phone, or make a program that overrides the voicemail and stores them on a seperate server all togther that isnt supported by Sprint. :/

Lol... nah its not that i think i got D?|SH mad at us or that I think I did wrong... I genuinely felt that well for
1) as this was his 1st post he should post an intro as per forum rules
which is what I told him and
2) it was something he couldve searched for.... didnt think much more needed to be said after that so I closed

Still i totally understand he's a new member and we are trying to build... when i first replied it was kinda fast and move on to the next one... i didnt realize I might have come off as harsh and that isnt my style... we dont want to scare of new members especiallly when theyre looking for help... im still a believer of help oneself by reading and search but us as staff are also here to hlep and point ppl in the right direction.. so my main thing i felt bad for was if i came at him as harsh or uncaring... but its not an issue...at least i dont think...lol

That belief of helping ones self by reading and searching is one of the main reasons you are moderator. Overtime you will definitely find that people ask the same questions over and over again without searching and it gets frustrating, we used to actually post links to other threads when people opened new ones that had already been answered. Imagine how annoying it was to do that for every new post that was already answered. It finally came to a point where we would just start get frustrated and basically yell at people for their first post lol,

for sure venum it was tough at first with this place due to only us three and all running the whole gig but we realized that we werent getting board activity much and we needed our sections to gerow by being nice to people and getting them to stay here with us at Wckediden...... it took a lot of hard work and a lot of time but by doing that it made Wckediden what it is today with active members, posts on the boards, etc..... we cant forget our roots and flaming sometimes in no troubles if a user continually does it..... but remember when you were a noob? if you asked a question and didnt understand a forum layout and beofre it was explained to you someone lashed out you would say **** this site they arent even helpful.... we got to think of it from a noobs aspect..... thats the way i look at it at least..... you got to keep your customers happy becasue without them you wouldnt have the business or in this case a forum.

But in any case, every STORE has a policy, for example, exchanges within 7 days and must have original packaging with receipt. I see what you mean, but if we are doing this for FREE (which we are and we LOVE it) the least you can do is follow policy.... so it depends on the question and where it was posted or answered in order to give the best support.... thats just what i think.

right i hear you there but without the users we wouldnt be here and we cant scare them off. thus why we have the infraction system...... no need for auto ban or anything like tht you give them points for their wrong-doings and if they keep doing it they get themselves banned...... we all got our own styles i guess but i feel we will grow at a much more rapid pace if everyone is nice and doesnt flame on the new members right off the bat for the first thing that they do...... but back to topic on this thread and any further discussion of the topic goes into the staff area.
