Samsung’s Galaxy A14 5G is getting a new software update. It offers the December 2024 security patch, which fixes a lot of security issues. At the moment, the update is live for SM-A146M, which is a variant of the device that the brand sells in North America. The version of the new firmware is A146MUBU8CXL3. Other variants of the device should get the update soon.

If you have the North American version of the Galaxy A14 5G, it might have already send you a notification about the availability of the latest security update. So, scroll down the notification panel and click on the notification to get the update. If you don’t see one, you can check for the new firmware manually by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install.

The Galaxy A14 5G is currently on Samsung’s Quarterly Security Update schedule, which means that the South Korean tech giant will offer it security updates once in every three months. So, the next update will arrive in March 2025. Speaking of updates, the phone is eligible to the Android 15-based One UI 7.0, which brings many new features that you can check out in the video below.



We expect Samsung to roll out the new software after the next Galaxy Unpacked event, where it will launch the Galaxy S25 series. The company will offer the update to high-end devices first and then bring it to mid-range and low-end devices. So, you will have to wait at least a few months to get the update.
