HandiTV (MobiTV Replacement) · **Released**: 07-06-2008

Alright guys and gals! Here is the scoop! Its taking longer then usual to get the MobiTv APP/Thread working. I have done some research to get something to accommodate everyone who still want to watch TV from your Pocket PC. Below is a video on it and how it works. REQUIREMENTS: WM5/WM6/WM6.1 POCKET PC ONLY

INSTRUCTIONS: You must install this app from a PC desktop. Extract the file and Run the .exe file. Install to DEVICE MEMORY. Soft reset and load the app! ENJOY!

I dunno bro. Dont watch too much tv as i have Sprint TV if i DO. Its different not better or worse I believe!

ok kewl.... let us know how this works for you mikey!
EDIT: KEEP IN MIND, these stations are live air streaming links to servers hosting the channel. If the server is down or the channel isn't being aired on the web then you may get a error, then you may try it again some other time and not get the error!

Thanks wcked. thats why i made a VIDEO so we wouldnt get a threead CAPPED OUt asking questions like how does this compare! I MADE a video! Members need to think for themselves sometimes!

well the install goes smoothly until it goes to transfer the cab file to the phone when i have it docked. when the add/remove programs window pops up, thought it was gonna tell me to install on the phone but it doesnt. it still says installation complete but it doesnt put it on the phone. thats it.

I know it takes time to transfer from the PC to the PHONE while showing you the installation window. Do you get any error at all?

I saw the video, did nothing but show me how it works i wanted info from some1 who has had experianced both and also knew what channels they both had in comparison and also quality...

nah when the installation window pops up and it was blank. I clicked on it a couple of times and it was not responding. then it just went away and it said installation complete. nothing was transferred to my phone.

I dunno bro I have installed it on many ppc already with no issues. Anyone else having the same issue?

yeah it installed on my phone. i just had to do it manually through activesync.

i dunno whats up but this dont work for me.. i tried every damn channel and nothing! not sayin ive given up on it, just puttin it aside till a fix is released.

yes i did read ur first post with trying again later possibly the channels were down, it just wasnt workin at the time.. i mean shit happends right

ill play with it again while im at work tomorrow..rather do that then work anyways.

ok. try that, also make sure you have the file that says Package as that was the 2nd one i UL and worked alot smoother and more channels.

Hope it is okay to ask ~ will this work for my son overseas if I choose to send this app to him and is there ever any chance of these streaming videos coming out with some type of caption?

I dont know! these channels are over the air broadcasted online. I think it may but not too sure. It cant hurt to try, :lol:

Same thing was happening for me, it would just sit at connecting for forever, and eventually i was getting an error (0x80072751). So i did a soft reset and now some of the channels are working, but i guess a bunch are down server side. So maybe a soft reset will fix your problem?

Ran the set up from my desktop and installed fine on my phone. I see there is another zip file that extracted 'handitv-ppc31-setup' - do I need to do anything with this?

Also, most of the stations I only get sound - no video??? any suggestions?

mmmm odd... what phone and rom are you using?

alltel ppc 6800 stock rom 2.14.671.3 radio 1.4

It has something to do with being connected to my usb cradle - most of the channels work just fine when it is not connected and most only get sound when it is connected

prolly because you are running ancient stuff bro..... you dont even have your turn by turn gps enabled on that rom.... i would update to at least the official rom that you can find at www.htc.com or go custom.... you can find a tutorial for flashing in my signature.

I've looked at htc.com and there aren't any official updates for my phone.

I've looked into upgrading to the sprint updated rom - but not quite there yet.

I've looked into flashing to kaos' take 3 hybrid but I'm still getting familar with my phone. I use my phone for personal and business use and am a little hesitant to try and flash a new rom. Would hate to go to the boss and tell him my phone no longer works because I was messin around with it.
