[RELEASE] Drag your soft keyboard anywhere you want for more viewing room

but this simple registry edit allows you to move your soft keyboard all over the screen (don't forget to soft reset). Here is the posting i found at pocketnow.com:

"There is a variety of native Windows Mobile Professional SIPs (Soft Input Panel): Keyboard, Transcriber, Block Recognizer, Letter Recognizer and there are those implemented by manufacturers like HTC and others: Phone Keypad, Compact QWERTY, Full QWERTY, etc.

What do all these have in common besides being all SIPs? Theyre all docked on the bottom of the screen, so that if theres something you would like to read and it is currently covered by the presently brought up SIP, you have to scroll down. Not anymore! Edit your registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\SIP and change the value of Dragstyle from 0 to 1, followed by a soft reset. The result can be seen in the image below, regardless of your favorite SIP, you now have the option to drag it anywhere on the screen (and off) by tapping and holding on the black band right on top of it and dragging and dropping it to your liking."

its just a reg hack that allows you to drag your keyboard like the pic shows.

I tried this it lets you put the keyboard any were on the screen and hide it

Thanks Dash... this is an Ok tweak... it could be kinda of convenient in certain situations, but I just tried it, and it made my text entry field, all weird, its like half cut off now... at least for sms... might be real handy in certain situations, but Im not a huge fan of it ... but thanks, its nice to no how to do it... not to go back and reset my registry back to 0...lol

oh and by the way, this was my first registry tweak... very simple, and all this time I was hesitant b/c I though it was so much more complicated... its about as easy to do as advance configuration tool is to use...

Hey guys...Merry Xmas/Happy Hanukah to all!

Just tried it on my Vogu and it worked, but now the text entry field's height property is reduced (cant even read the first line as I type). Im thinking that maybe there's a way to also alter the field's height property to give it more height or the ability 2 scroll (which is not present after the hack).

Other than that It seems to do its job, THX!

naw the reg edit changes it so you dont need to scroll cause you can move the keyboard outta the way...i like the idea, but don't like how it doesnt scroll down either....
