[NEWS] You can now control Teslas products with SmartThings

At CES 2024, Samsung and Tesla announced a partnership where Samsungs SmartThings platform will allow you to monitor and control Teslas Solar and Powerwall products. Back then, the two companies said that they would roll out the support for Teslas products into Samsungs SmartThings platform in the second quarter of this year. Well, thats finally happening.

Samsung has announced that you can now add Teslas Solar Inverter, Powerwall, and Wall Connector into the SmartThings app in the United States. This will allow you to monitor and control the production, storage, and usage of energy from and by Teslas products from Samsungs SmartThings app.

Additionally, Samsungs SmartThings app can leverage the Tesla apps Storm Watch feature to not only notify you about severe weather conditions that can cause power outages so that you can be better prepared for them but also act on those notifications to perform certain actions automatically to prepare your home for power outages, such as charging the Powerwall.

You can also create automation for Teslas products in the SmartThings app. To use Teslas products with SmartThings, download the latest versions of the Tesla and the SmartThings apps and follow the instructions provided by Samsung on this webpage. This integration should arrive in other regions soon.
