Default Phantom Voicemails on HTC Mogul

A very odd thing i happening on my 3.35ROM HTC (Sprint). When I attempt to goto voicemail, it prompts for the voicemail number, but never connects. Dialing the Voicemail number (which is my number) goes right into voicemail. However holding the 1 button, or accessing voicemail via any other method will constantly prompt for the voicemail number. All in all, this leaves a phantom voicemail warning on my phone, and no way to remove it.

Has anyone had this problem in the past, or know how to fix it? I think this started when I was attempting to get WM6VOIP to work, however it is no longer installed on the phone.

Thanks,

you can remove the voicemail icon by calling your cell and actually leaving a voicemail ..then check and delete it from your cell..had it happen a few times...also i believe their is a way to reset it in windows directory...

I followed your instructions, and received another voicemail notification which WAS able to dial directly in to voicemail. However the original Phantom notification will not go away. When I click on the original notification (after deleting the message I sent), it will prompt me for my voicemail number.

thanks

did you make sure that you were actually calling the number not using a speedial or pressing and holding one because what kaos said has already worked for me.

Yes, I dialed my own number manually to check voicemail and delete the message I created. I really think this has to do with WM6VOIP. Is it possible it connected to my ViaTalk account and detected a message? I was unable to get WM6VOIP working, but if I have a voicemail notification from it, could this be the message?

not sure could be bro dont use any other aftermarket voicemail app since i rarely listen to my voicemails and will do maby once a week max. to me its more of an hassle than worth.... i have caller id and all so i can tell who called and call them back and see what they wanted..... just personal preference but you could try that.

No problem, thanks for your input. I'll post some info when I figure it out.

OK. I figured this one out. It has to do with having WM6VOIP on your phone, and not actually using the VOIP service. I changed the registry entry for HKLM\System\State\VoIP\Voicemail Number to my MOBILE PHONES voicemail number. Now my voicemail speed dial works.

If I really wanted this to work properly, I can just setup this key for my VOIP voicemail number. I'm just testing it now, so this is my fix. Everyone else should put your VoIP voicemail number here.

Cheers.

That did not work for my issue. As soon as you cleared it, another would reappear. When you dial voicemail, it would prompt that a voicemail number has not been configured for this line. There was no work around but to modify the registry. This all began to happen when I installed WM6VOIP, and configured it for my VOIP service. Regretfully, as the internal VOIP quality is terrible, even over WiFi or EVDO rev A.
