WM6.5 QVGA[/RIGHT]

Hi guys,

This is a happy day today for all of us QVGA users as new version of Manila have been leaked. Youhouuu!!!

The great thing with this Manila version is that it comes from HTC Mega (which is not even officially announced yet :eek:) and has native QVGA screen resolution so there is no need for porting or resizing of application.

Originally Da_G posted Mega packages for cookers so they can cook into Roms. I just made a quick cab so anyone can benefit and try out before your favorite cookers will release new Roms. Making cabs still takes some time so I'll add other Mega cabs later
It is released as is, so it may or may not work on your device

WHATS NEW IN THIS VERSION?
Currently in testing phase ....

- it has new folderview (bugless finally), works flawlesly, also All settings soft key now is working properly with WM6.5.
- it uses a little less RAM (about 15% less)
- it does not include anymore footprints widget (there are all settings in xml file, but no bitmaps. Maybe copying pngs from older version it may work. The same for TV widget)
- there is new Sound Control canvas in settings tab
- there is new Mail Setup canvas in settings tab (needs Email Setup Wizard and New Mail Account cabs to work, link below)

In general there is no big difference between previous version and this, just some bug and compatibility fixes. In my opinion the biggest change is HTC new approach to finger friendly menus, settings and applications in tight integration with Manila. The rest you can see in screenshoots.


MUST READ
----------------------------------
- original version works only on WM6.5. I included patched version which should work with other phones and WM6.1 (thanks to mbarvian)
- this is only WWE version, it won't work correctly with other languages.
- if you had any previous version of Manila, don't forget to uninstall it and do soft reset before installing this version. Also keep in mind that it will keep your personal settings, like people tab photos, weather cities or launcher number of rows/clomuns.
- there are no anymore Footprints or TVwidget tab, by enabling those Manila won't start.
- Manila customizer theme manager won't work properly also change internet browser won't work
- to set Opera as default browser in Manila you need to change following registry settings:

\HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila2D\InternetWidget\
"OperaEXEFile"=<Path to Opera>
"WebBrowserType"=dword:00000001

As I already told this version of Manila is very tightly integrated into HTC Mega package and it is almost impossible to have clean standalone version. Nevertheless it is possible to run it with minimum requirements without problems, so don't expect to work every single function and module. Also this version is designed for WM6.5 and it will not work flawlessly with WM6.1. You can use patched version included here, but many modules will not work.

To run Manila with base functionality you will need to install these cabs:
(you will have running Manila with basic tabs working. Obviously Album, Audio Manager and Settings tabs won't work or work partly, but it gives aproximate idea ans feeling about this Manila version)

Change The Weather City Or Add Your Own:
What you need:
1) HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml file. I have attached one below which you can use, or alternatively you can copy the one from the your /windows folder.
2) If you don't have the version which is already patched then you will need the N2A patched file attached below as well.

Here are the steps:
1) Open HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml using Notepad.
2) You will see many cities listed like this:
<city name="Anchorage, US" loca="NAM|US|AK|ANCHORAGE " land="United States " /> (original)
<city name="Ketchikan, AK" loca="NAM|US|AK|KETCHIKAN" land="United States" /> (copied and edited)
Simply copy one of the cities from your country, or state and then edit the city information. You will notice in the example above i have changed "Anchorage, US" to "Ketchikan, AK" as this is just what will display on the screen. The section marked loca=con"CONTINENT|COUNTRY|STATE|CITY" must be typed in correctly or else you will not get any data.
3) Repeate step 2 for as many cities as you would like to add.
4) Disable touchflo on the today screen
5) Copy Manila2D.exe (if you are not using the version already patched), and your newly edited HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml file to the /windows folder.
6) Enable touchflo on the today screen again.
7) Go to weather and add new city, the new cities should be available to you. I would remove any old cities you had before as well.

Since the Opal Volume is included in the all-in-one cab i've been using, could I remove just that? I only ask because I've noticed that while in-call, you can't change the call volume. The opal volume control only controls the system and ringer volume. Is there another way to change the in-call volume besides using the volume rocker while in call? Or does anyone know a way to work around this?

Hey NINE, do u have the HTC Album 2.0 installed on your device? I couldnt get pix for the longest. Once I installed the htc album everything worked.

yup, you have to uninstall that large cab, I dont really know how to take off the opal volume rocker either....My guess is install tf2d with the small cabs like before and just dont install the opal volume rocker here is a link from xda:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398173

i still haven't gotten around to it but you might be able to remap in the touch flo xml file in the windows folder. im gunna to read it during class ill see what i can figure out

ok got a little problem here, i just flashed my mogul last night with the kaos take5 and from the clean start i installed all of the cabs on update 10(everysingle 1). everythings working fine, songs are playin, even youtube is playin. only 2 things that's buggin me is the weather, i have no icons, i mean no cloud or sun just numbers but when i the location thats raining i got the droplet animation( which is purrrrrty!) is there anything that i need to add to get the clouds and sh!T.....second is the email when i scroll to the email page it just goes back to the page that says "tap here to launch touchflo2d" i already got to sync with my hotmail. it gives me a notice like when i have a new email like a number on the icon but when i scroll to it it just shuts down touchflo2d and puts me back on the today screen. any help pls!!!!!

Mike I took the skyfire file and renamed it operal.exe and moved it to the windows file but the Launch Browser still doesn't work, what am I doing wrong? has anyone made this to work with out using opera?

nope, dnt work for me either...

ill look for another way, i guess you will have to remap the launcher to skyfire in the xml file in the windows folder, ill see if i can find it to tell you which is it

I just recently loaded the touchflo installed all the updates for it but i tried replacing my old files with the new files for the weather update but my phone is saying that it cant be copied make sure theres enough memory for that but i have plenty of space HELP PLEASE

OK, I have installed everything and i seem to be having the same problems as everyone else. Youtube won't play, and this is the message that I keep getting:

"There is not enough free storage space to run YouTube. Minimum free storage space required is 8MB."

According to my device, I have 59.7 Mb free. Also, when I press the launch browser globe, nothing happens. I understand that I need opera, but I can't seem to get it. I installed the update 11, and did everything according to instructions, but after step 12, things get complicated. Where is the D Comm Manager file, and how do I open it? Is it in the download? Also, the opera 1957 file wasn't included either, at least I don't believe it was. Everything else is running pretty good, I just need to explore it more. Should I uninstall everything and start over?:40:

I tried HHC, and it worked....kind of. M2D will load the city name, but can't get the weather data in my case. We'll probably have to wait for a fix if you have to enter a custom city.....

I got the opera needed and the comm manager in the download in the most recent one at the xda thread. They are in their own folders for some reason..... look for a folder instead of a cab file. The cabs are in those folders respectively, unless your download didn't have them in there. My youtube doesn't work (Sprint's stock 6.1 rom which I need to ditch), but my opera and comm manager does just fine.

Here is my dumb question of the day: What is flashing? I read about it all the time, but don't exactly know what it is. I was also thinking about disabling my cube because I won't need it with this interface. I read somewhere that it will free up a whole lot of memory. Anyone think that this would be helpful? flashing is basically loading a new OS to your device (in laymans terms)

and there is a thread on how to disable the cube here search for (disable cube 101)

hey guys im just curious and annoyed ive been trying to load music with the album cover on my mogul but for some reason i cant figure it out im officialy a dumbass!!! i tried dragging it from my itunes still no go?? help pls.

and another.... still having issues with the email, i can only read the new emails after the new ones it shuts down touchflo and goes to the today screen with "tap here to lauch touchflo". any ideas????

Albumn covers & info: I've just used Windows Media Player, and once you copy a CD to your hard drive on your pc, you can click "find albumn info" and get all art and song information. Then a drag and drop from your pc to storace card, and should be all good. I haven't seen that problem specifically with this M2D. Maybe the itunes format isn't recognized or something. I don't know.

As for the email.....Not a problem I've seen either. Once i click on an email in the preview in M2D, the email loads. Click "ok" and it goes right back to the preview that I clicked. Not sure why yours isn't doing that. Maybe Mike knows.... Sorry I'm not more help...

Ok im not sure if this was answered already (i looked) but there is an audio manager in the M2D folder and then in the extra cabs folder there are two more Audio managers. Which do I install? Same goes for the HTC Album and Youtube. Theres on in M2D and one in the extra cabs. Thanks in advance for any help.

if you have the (do it yourself package) you dont need the Utilities link cuz they are included already

From what I know, Skyfire won't work yet, even with some tooling around with the .exe files.

That's all I know. I have the touch with the newest stock rom (I heard that was causing problems), and my youtube didn't work at first. I used the fix, and voila. Works perfect now. What phone are you using and what rom? And not to be a broken record, but you did soft reset, right?

UPDATE 13 IS UP!!!

CHANGELOG FILES:

1. used mbarvian diamond them with analog clock

2. enabled a reg setting in htcyoutubeqvga cab to enable using flash video
3. using new cab created by by ravest, which it includes flash 3.1 and youtube / album video fix
4. new opal comm manager called HTC_Opal_CommManager_2.7.1.8.CAB instead of diamond comm manager
5. step number 5 now says soft reset after installing 2d_audio_manager.cab - PLEASE DO THIS BEFORE STEP #6 - i added this cause it helps with audio manager locking up problem
6. step number 8 now say soft reset after installing htc album - PLEASE DO THIS BEFORE STEP #9 - i added this cause it helps with htc album locking up problem as well as picture viewing issue

This rocks!!!!! I tried update 12, and couldn't get it working. So then I flashed Big Jew's Dade ROM, and it made me feel stupid. Don't get me wrong, it was bad ass, but way too far advanced for me. Update 13 is ssswwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!! :yahoo:

I have a question about messaging. I recieve a ton of video and pic messages, and I want to forward them. In Opera, can I only forward to one phone # at a time? And how do I open a file that I download from a message? What do I need to open file extension .do ?

that means that youtube doesnt work for ypu. that is the error that mostly mogul users cant fix as of yet. did you install the youtube fix to see of it solves that problem?

I've seen the question before but No answer yet. I installed the newest the greatest and touchflo2d is up and working. Good to go. I tested the weather with several cities in the default city database and that is working too! How do you get touchflo to recognize the custom database? I used HHC to put in my city but nothing. Still only the default database. I did disable the program before i did anything. No go. ANyone sharing the issue? And does anyone have a work around or fix?

mike is everything really working now??? i havent been up to date on the changes after day 1 i gave up since ther were so many problems LOL i want to install and say SIIIIII IT WORKS just like it should LOL

everythig a flawlea or me, even youtube bro (not that i ever had any touble with it lol) but all you need is in update 13, all the cabs nd intructions to get it working like a dream

ps. if you don't want the diamond skin then install the manila cab from update 12 and proceed with 13 from step 2

yes i did...it must be a mogul issue because it runs fine on my fiancees touch. It seems to be an issue with full screen player...My videos don't work either. On a side note, anyone having trouble rotating pictures in the photo viewer. That works on the touch too but no go on the mogul. Thanks.

Got everything installed and everything runs as it should. This is incredibly responsive (at least compared to TL). It's def not gonna hold me back from getting that touch pro but it should hold me over for this next month or so. My main issue is that, though I added my city to the weather cities file, it will add the city to weather tab but wont DL the info for it. Just says it failed to update. But the cities already there work just fine. Has anyone successfully added a new city?

Working real nice, just waiting for the ability to modify (with customizers) all the things we can with HTC Home, Ultimate Launcher, TL, etc. I'm lovin' though ;)

lol i still have old school setup on mine when they first got it working. where you had to install 5 cabs to get everything working.... is it actually anybetter with the new setups?
im not rlly to fond of teh new skin... too diamond themed... aka way to overused. lol

well if you got everything working fine then no need to upgrade. the idea is to fix the bugs or anything else that you needed to get this to work. and if you are not fond of the diamond skin, then you can install the manila cab from the preveous update and proceed update 13 from step 2
