Custom ROM

Just got my Pro on Saturday, upgraded from the Mogul. Sweet phone!! Was wondering if there were any ROMs out there that would help with speed and battery life. Are you guys running the stock ROM or have you found a custom that makes the phone even sweeter?

there is no custom roms at this point...... but there should be some coming soon...... there isnt even an hardspl aka unlocker to allow for the custom roms yet.

If you're talking about the Sprint version of the Pro, WHEN DID IT COME OUT??!! (but i don't think it is, so prolly the gsm??)

hahahahaha the best buys only got around 5 max they are all sold out until telesales releases on the 30th or the 2nd.... ( most likely the second.)

Yeah I can't wait for a custom rom lol. Best Buy employees can purchase the phone because I grabbed it as soon as I saw it on Friday. If you call around you should be able to find one, atleast the ones around my area have them. Also, you can get 20% off the phone with the coupon so you can get it for $240 out the door when you resign for 2 years! Not a bad deal and it's only going until Nov 1st I believe so if anyone is on the fence this might help you decide haha.

Yeah, got mine from BB, but missed the coupon! DAMN!!!!!!! Any way to take advantage of it after the fact?

By the way, Dash, I saw over at XDA that they had a Hard SPL already created for the Rahael, along with a couple of custom ROMs. Will these not work on the Pro?

Yeah just take this in with you. They may tell you to sign up for rewardzone which is a free membership thing through best buy if you don't already have it. Call and ask before hand if they want you to bring in the box, we never make anyone bring it in for something like that but it depends on how nice they are. The coupon technically states that you have to sign up with a data plan on it but most employees don't notice that. If you don't have the data plan just temporarily sign up for one and then cancel it and don't take no for an answer if they give you any kind of BS about not taking the coupon, they have to!

ok i already bought my tp and for 299 but i asked about the coupon and they said it had to be through mail if i tell them false information and that i had one sent online and bring that will they refund me the 20%?

No problem datru, glad it worked out for ya! Cmoney i'm not sure i completely understand what you are saying. From what I understand you bought yours at Best Buy in a store and signed a 2 year agreement right? If you did, that's all that is required(technically you are supposed to get the data plan but like I said 90% of best buy employees probably won't notice it). All that you have to do is have a rewardzone membership which is completely free and take in that flier and tell them to adjust the price for it. They have to give it to you if you meet those two requirements so don't let them tell you otherwise. Some employees may not have seen it which is why they said something about getting it through the mail but it is supposed to be instant and they have to honor it. Hope that answers your question.

if you want to brick your phone...... the reason i say that is because those are for the gsm models and not the cdma models.
