[15/10/08] Manila 2d in Landscape - Done

If you're like me, and you constantly flip open your keyboard to find that once you go to the Today screen, your Manila 2d makes your device rotate back to Portrait, you're in luck :P

Here's the result of a three days of work:


How it Works:
Inside the .cab is Mortscript, which is vital for this to work. There is a script that runs while Device.exe (which should always be running) that reads whether the device is in Portrait or Landscape, and checks off TouchFlo and checks my Touchflo-skinned RLToday, and vice-versa. Then it redraws the Today screen. However, it does take a while to do all of this, but the effect is worth while

This isnt too bad. Landscape mode is just like my touch pro. I tried this app out my my wifes mogul......works good....but after switching back from landspace to portrait....the relaunch of manila 2d takes too long.

personally, i dont use it on my mogul, but its a good alternative till the real landscape with slide bar and everything is done

Now thats exactly what Im waiting for, the official m2d landscape mode for my vogue... this does look kool however, but it seems to make more sense for a flip phone/clamshell...

For Now Im good just customizing M2d with m2dc (customizer) and playing w/ wallpers and such... what I'd really like at this point is just a 2nd today screen that i can place my other plugins on...and either make another widget for it or place a short cut on my launcher.

Any good suggestion for 2nd today screen?

I believe there is an app that does that, but I could be wrong. Just try searching around, and if you come up with anything post it up.

good lookin out mike...I've been wanting to run manilla on my device but I hate how it switches back to portrait mode...you've made my life a whole lot easier...thanks bro...this works perfectly, yeah its probably not as fast as the touch pro but there is only like a 5 second lag if your running a bunch of programs

I found it over at freeware Pocket PC...

I hear another Alternative would be mtoday, but from what I hear its not as efficient or as powerful as second today... Anywayz both are over at 'Freeware Pocket PC dot com' if anyone's interesed just do a search

Hmm for some reason this just wont work for me:( It keeps going back when I change it to Landscape.

I understand that but isnt this what he made the cab for. I thought after the cab was installed that when the phone went into landscape it would switch from TF2D to the today screen he made. And please dont mock me.. Hmmmmm

hey bro did u install the cab and the do a soft-reset? thats what I had to do...hit that rep if it works

hold on...i see you have a touch...this doesn't work on a touch because the mortscript checks for when the keyboard is open...it doesn't run if you just rotate the screen...

Yes, I did the soft reset. Yes, I figured out this will only work on a phone with a slide out keyboard. Thanks anyway:)
