[ROM] Verizon Omnia WM 6.5 Build 21232 ROM v. 2.7

Greetings.

This is a beta cooked ROM, built from a beta OS, built from another beta ROM. It is a freakish nitemare of Windows Mobile 6.1, and 6.5. It is from the latest build as of this posting, 21232, SYS and XIP. I ported both of them from a Touch Pro kitchen.

Everything appears to work. That said, there has not been heavy testing done. If you want fast and stable, go with my 1.3 bugfix. If you want bleeding edge, and aren't afraid of getting a few cuts (from a machette), try this.


2.7 Release Notes
-----------------
--Enabled low battery warning event in Notifcation Settings. Play with it. It might work, it might be ignored.
--Added Microsoft MyPhone. This will help my fellow Flashaholics.
--You can now enable lock by end key, or disconnect data calls by end key. Verizon i910 first for a WM 6.5 cooked rom!
--Splash screen reflects cooked rom build.
--Fixed duplicate Office Mobile folders.
--Bluetooth now shows up in taskbar when enabled. Be careful, a restored backup can remove this feature.
--Made some changes that should help stability with Titanium Weather.
--Mortscript no longer pops up to annoy you.
--Free space of 125mb now.

Minor Release

Added HTC Task Manager, configured to be completely transparent; out of the way. X will close apps. If you want the quick menu back, please re-enable it here:

Dword: EnableQMenu

Set it to 1.

Added Elias Async killer to try and address the issue with ActiveSync always running. Its not 100% effective, but does work a good part of the time. This should promote stability, and battery life.

A very minor side note. My daughter's birthday is June 10, and I am trying to save up and get her a Wii. Donations are always welcome, but nevever, ever required. I promise not to drink them up :p




2.4 Release Notes

Minor Release

Removed programs not appropriate for WM 6.5: Axed Large Start Menu, and Theme Maker. The icon is still there, but it does nothing.
Changed Titanium Weather icons to HTC style. It will read all x's until you update it.
Set a default wallpaper.
Set the clock to be persistent on the taskbar through all screens, removing the battery icon. I reccomend a replacement, such as batti 2.4.

2.0 Release Notes

OEM is based on 1.3, Bugfix Edition, which comes from CC20 beta rom, with a flavoring of DXID1 (i900 beta rom).

SYS is from WM 6.5 build 21232.

XIP is a hybrid of WM 6.1 and 6.5.

Eyecandy: Its there, but I have added no themes. I'll leave that to you.
Free space: ~128mb or so. Expect this to increase with later builds.
Speed: Feels fast. Thats all that matters, right? Same tweaks for performance that are in my 1.3 rom, are in this one too.
Stability: Hell if I know. Feels stable for as little thats its been tested.

Issues found so far:

1. Battery meter on taskbar does not work. Other third party solutions will.

To get rid of the nonworking battery icon, you can go into your clock settings, and set it to show the time on the taskbar. It will replace the battery icon with something useful. Then install something like batti 2.4 for battery monitoring.

2. You must setup TitaniumWeather, or you will be plagued with a Mortscript notification every boot until you do.

3. ActiveSync runs....A LOT. I've tried to address it, but not guarantees.


A tip for a smoother running 6.5. Install FTouchSL 2.10 and it will automatically disable the Samsung crap scrolling, leaving the kinetic scrolling of 6.5 unhindered. Please note that FTouchSL can conflict with other apps and those apps will need to be excluded in the settings of FTouchSL. That, and the program is not free

total noob but i need the flashing instructions, if i missed them sorry, plus i might hold off for a couple of days cuz i read the thread over at ppcgeeks and they are running into a few problems but are on track to getting them fixed. If you can get me instructions ill still try it.
