Great SenseUI Alternative!

So today I got tired of my Rhodium manila, and decided to try and mockup the SenseUI found on the HTC Hero, which is an Android device. The results were astonishing with a skin pack for PointUI Home2 called PointSense. There is still a lot of work being done to provide more applets in SenseUI style, but it is rolling along very nicely.

actually... ive been running this for a while, and in order to get it fully looking like the images and a full sense UI interface, youll need the most recent version of npoint ui... which is version 2.1.0.6... and also the next gen mod.... ill attach the vga cab for you... but, its sitll is beta and has some flow... very functional though...and looks sweet when i wanna impressed... try it for yourself!!

oh p.s next gen mod is for vga and wvga... if u want wqvga or qvga youll have to download it of the point ui community forums... unless someone else can uplaod it... im about to crash!

works w/ the newest free version which is considered to be lite, but better w/ pro version as you can add more applets etc

last i check the cracked pro version available was 2.0.3.2 which this wont work for... we didnt have a cracked 2.1.0.6 pro version... a few request were mad on the point UI threads and even u urself said hadnt found it yet.... unless that change last couple days, but i havent seen an update... well the theme will work... but w/o the next gen mod wont work, w/o which you wont get the bottom or top bar or the full sense ui interface, ull just get a basic point ui theme w/ sense ui wallper which is kinda lame w/o the rest of the goodies...

hahahahah... since my desktop crashed n burned... i havent been able to upload ish... actually just barley able to keep up w/ the boards on my gurls lappy, and she dont have internet so all i can do is tether to have access for some reason, when i try upload from here, its too much process n my pro dies/closes out or its like forever..... and with the amount of work weesje you and some other have been doin w/ releases.... it hard to post these days... everytime i has... wees or someone cans it cuz it already here...lol... i just figured this was released here already until i saw this thread... tell u what, next time... ill just put the word out and someone w/ a more stable system can upload?

I could not get any of the cabs to show up after install. granded i was on sss beta 205-3. i just flahsed to NFSFAN v110 so i'll try again.

Nice program, it has some few bugs when installing, but i think it might be a issue with certain roms. It has awesome potential and i love the home screen. I only wish it had a better display for unread messages. i am going to flash a new rom and try it again. i will keep you updated if i find anything else.

Thanks for the feedback bro could be the rom ur runnning i dont think this theme would have bugs since it aint beta Version .

Yea, on the website it does post some other options for installing it. The method that worked for me was

- Remove PointUI from Start > Settings > System > Remove Programs
- Delete \Program Files\Home2\ if there is anything still there.
- Download and install PointUI 2.1.0.6
- Enable PointUI from Start > Settings > Today > Items > Tick PointUI Home2
- Close the Settings window.
- Disable PointUI from Start > Settings > Today > Items > Untick PointUI Home2
- Download and install PointSenseSuite (QVGA or VGA) from the first post.
- Download and install PointSense.Homescreen (QVGA or VGA) from the first post.
- Re-enable PointUI from Start > Settings > Today > Items > Tick PointUI Home2
- Once PointUI has started go to Menu > Customize > Change theme - Apply PointSense theme.
- Go to applets window, remove all current applets you don't want and add PointSense applets.

did u get the top and bottom bar like in the screen shots, w/ just the point sens suite?

Yea but i did install the PointSense.Homescreen, and that is what give you the top bar right? I did not check it befor i installed the PointSense.Homescreen.

dunno lat time i tried i was using the next gen mod... to get the top n bottom... worked verynice... but still beta so not fully flushed out... ill try again soon... maybe theres been an updat from last time i tried

Right now he is working on V2, i am waiting for that to come out looks promising.

shut down home 2 UI extract the next gen zip to the point ui home 2 folder on your device overwriting anything that is asked of you... then restart home 2

hi or just put the theme folder in you pointiu folder of your themes then go and select theme from pointui and it wil restart now need to overwrite you previus this way you can have 5 themes and change when you whant

Ok so One last ? I think I got this thing now. Please excuse me for baing a noob, I will Admit but thats how we learn. My ? is I copied each folder from the next gen zip Common, Next Gen and Themes, I ok the overwrite and re enabled pount ui. And the phone was off looked like the screen and interface was not fitted to my touch pro. do I need all those folders or just the next gen one. Thanks

I have not tried it yet, i just have been really busy. I will try it over the next few days. If anyone else has any input i would like to hear it. It looks pretty sweet though.

- [Solve] Problem with QVGA version. Download default.zip, extract and overwirte to Home2\PointSense\Widgets\Clock. Restart Home 2
- Wrong timezone! Because of Daylight Saving Time. You can manually edit city timezone in Home2\PointSense\cities\{country}.xml. Is there anyone know to solve this?
- Can't select widget when it's out off screen
- Can't uninstall suite: Maybe cabinet is too large?

i was on pointui awhile ago. really liked it but there wasn't as much for my phone think i'll give it a whirl again.
