Fixing HTC HomePlugin weather Upload Problems
Supporter Last Online: Nov 2009
WARNING! The old IP-based/Pocket Hosts method using my server HAS BEEN DEACTIVATED, as I have had to remove the code in question from the direct IP. You can, if necessary, set up your own IP address to base it on, if you can't use my system for some reason. Otherwise, please use the cabs below.
If you've got a Touch or Kaiser/TyTN II... Make sure you've installed sdkcerts.cab, then use the appropriate cabfile below, and set up your weather according to this post! Please note that if you want the 6 tab on the Touch, you'll still need the full install rather than the DLL. Step by step guide - CABINET INSTALL 1. If you haven't already got it on your phone, copy the SdkCerts.cab file to your device, and run directly on the device. 2. Uninstall existing HTC Home plugins where possible. If it's in your ROM, don't worry about it, it should overwrite it. 3. Download and install the appropriate patched home plugin from the attachments below. (WM6 Touch 3-tab, Schen's WM6 6 tab customisable, 6-tab without brightness fix (Kaiser/possibly Touch only!) or WM5 6-tab) 4. If you haven't already, enter your local code into \WINDOWS\HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml (or corresponding localized file). It will also accept ZIP codes, as well as the EUR|UK|UK001|MANCHESTER type format. (See guide below) 5. Re-enable the HTC Home plugin from Settings -> Today -> Items. 6. Choose your local area by going to the weather tab, and clicking on the bar below "Weather". Choose your local town/city from the list which you inputted, and press the left softkey for Select. 7. Enjoy! That's it! Please remove the added htc.accuweather.com from Pocket Hosts if you've previously added it, and don't forget to soft reset. SINGLE DLL INSTALL These are ONLY for the native device in question - namely the Touch and the Kaiser - which already have a HTC Home plugin installed. This simply patches the DLL in ROM to use my weather server. Download the appropriate DLL CAB for the device, and install it. Soft reset, and you should be able to edit your XML file as described above, to insert your home town/city/etc. http://rapidshare.com/files/74144453/SdkCerts.cab.html Show Your Support
