Really dumb noob questions.... - Wckediden

Proud new owner of the Touch and was wondering if there is proper way to shut the phone down?? Tried searching with no luck. I must be the only retard on the site. The book says to press and hold the power button but, I get a message that say all unsaved data will be lost. Is this right????

yup you click ok or yes to that and it will shut the whole phone down... or you can still use the device but the phone will be off if you click and hold the red call end button...

Again, thanks!! Sorry for the noob question. Just seemed like there should be a shut down process like on a pc.
