D/\SH Needs App Ideas

I need some clever ideas for applications on the diamond or the touch pro that will either use or not use the accelerometer.... im just getting abck into making apps again so bare with me but needed some imput on what you ghuys thought would be cool for me to make....

I had a couple of unlocking ideas using the gsenor.

1st- the lock screen would display a short, simple maze and an object (ball or something) and to unlock you must complete the maze. And I mean a simple maze like just a horizontal line or horizontal then a 90 degree turn to a vertical line since you would have to complete it every time your phone is locked.

2nd- Using a similar app like pocket g force, i think thats what its called, and to unlock you must shake the device above a listed force. The lock display would show the amount of force to unlock and the current amount of force being applied.

I dunno if either idea is possible or if anyone would like them but I figure I throw them out there to someone with experience since I have no idea where to start. Thanks D/\sh

not a fan of the fist one becasue if the screen were to come on in someones pocket it would easily unlock.... but the second idea i really do like........

lets keep the ideas coming guys so we can pick the best few of them :>

how about lightsensor apps (almost everybody is ignoring this sensor)

if so, then a lightsensor app that will turn of the screen (just the screen). this way when u put the phone to your ear the screen will turn off ( automation factor and a feel of highend to phone)

mmmmmm could have a possibility if one could figure out how to code it so when it is in your pocket or the holster it will stay wake up on call..... would take some coding but it may be possible......

i think an app that could take over the outdated way of navigating thru windows for example there contacts and sms r corny i think if they were more like vito tech the phone would b alot smoother a program to stop scrolling thru all those countries in the weather area i like scrolling but damn more animations for the weather i know this is asking for way too much but a browser like skyfire internet capabilities but with opera style

your basically talking all skins and im not a graphic designer........... maby the contacts ap but there is only sooo much you can do with contacts and all.... and from what i can think of it has all been done.

Okay - maybe not too easy to do, way too many variables, but would definitely require input by enduser.

I saw a video about using the barcode reader to find out what a product is and where you could buy it.

As a busy mom and hating shopping, is there some way that you could use the sensor thingy to track what you buy and then make a list? My kids are always telling me at bedtime that they are out of stuff for their pets, ie cat litter, dog food, fish food, whatever. I know there is this wicked refrigerator that does this for you, but I don't have one of those, and you don't keep cat litter in the fridge.

Can you make it so that I could scan something and it make like a shopping list? Nothing fancy, but some kind of decoder thing that would recognize what the thing was and put it on a list?

I have a mogul, but seems to me that if the sensor works, it should work with any WM platform, since it's not actually a phone feature?

i like the idea because you could have the list type out onto a word document and than sync via bluetooth with your printer and print off the shopping list :> it would be hella hard and im not nearly advanced enough.... but hey venum ( i know he will see this) if you wanna take a crack at this with me (since your more skilled :>) i would be down...

can you make an app that gives you animations while switching from portrait/landscape and vice versa? i would like to see the samsung omnia animations when i do or at least iphone style cuz normally it looks too plain for me, i dunno if it can be ported or emulated....

How about a locking application: Utilizing voice command style feature. Similar to how one activates a contact call, or pogram by saying the programed name. Would it be possible to program a sweet voice command phone unlocking, locking feature. (As I type this, I wonder if such a capability exist?! lol!) Even if it does...make one better..."You can doooo it!".

mmmmm but the questions is if the phone is locked how are you going to be able to open the program up so you can speak and have it unlock..... seems impossible to me.... locking would prolly be no problem but unlocking :dash3:

Is there a code in there that allows for certain buttons or keys to function even when locked? For instance, some "key guard" or "phone lock" applications allow for emergency numbers to be dialed, or incoming calls to be answered. Just brain storming. I have a strong desire for "LOCKING" my d*mn phone...as you may be able to tell from some of my other post...I got issues man! lmao!

Oh! I have the Mogul(TyTn)...I was just offering up ideas. I just got this thing tweaked...allllllmost to the point of satisfaction! Once I get a good locking feature (ie; mSafe/mLock - motionapps.com) I will be good. Heres another idea...Television/audio remotes have a feature, where you can press one "programmed" button and a series/cylcle of functions will be executed. the problem with the remote (and why none of the ones that the companies like vito or resco ) is that they dont work on newer devices becasue they have made the beam weaker than it used to be so they could make bluetooth stronger.....

No...no...I'm talking about a similar function for phone displays. Here is a better example:

im not a crackberry user.... ithere isnt much freeware out there but many programs for cheap but they are all the same business apps not bling apps.

In order for that to work you will need a data feed like rss. So it won't be totally possible.

Well you osrta need the antenna for that.. im not sure the antenna in the cell phone it self is capable of transfer like that.. although what he can do is create and app to work with online radio stations.

you re correct... on the diamond we have the fm radio but it needs the headset.... the headset acts as the antenna for the radio to give it signal....

how bout a app called start up...where it basically starts the programs that u want running in the back ground like Ifonz or Gyrator 2 or what ever you choose...so u dont have to open them each 1 by 1 just 1 push let load up and then your ready, sorry if something like this is out(then plz show me where to find it)

Also a great idea....I haven't seen anything like it but that is the downfall to most of the interfaces....you have to load them like an app......Can you do it DASH?

Not necessarily a Diamond or touch pro specific app request, but a WM app request......I've been looking for something that will give me visual data while tethering. I want to now my download and upload speed and total bytes transferred, RX TX activity blinky lights, you know a whole smorgasbord of info on a WM(ppc) screen while tethered.

im not sure what all of that means i dont even own a smart phone yet, but to answer your first question yes i am lazy but i really want it so i wont forget to start a certain thing or if somebody else is using my phone it would be easy for them...

why dont you just add the apps to the startup folder located in the windows folder.

yeah will take me some time to get in the groove of things again with the language (damn shouldnt have taken that break) but i will see what i can do when i get some time to sit down and work with the language again.

ok guys, taking a class at the local community college here to get back into the coding game :> what i have decided to do for my first project (starts next semester) is a game. the game is going to be called whack a noob and will look like whack a mole but they will just be noobs instead of moles :> should be a fun game to let the aggression on the noobs out. the way im thinking of it to work is you use your finger or stylus to whack the noob on the screen.... dotn ahve all the images planned as of yet but thats ok becasue at the same time next semester when im taking that class i will be also be taking a photoshop class to get my skills started in that progra...

tell me what you guys thing about the whack a noob game :>
