Asian/International Cinema
Good day all...
I am a International film collector. Mainly Martial Arts Movies, but not limited to Drama, Comedy, and Anime. I wish to make this an area where I will share my collection with those that share the same interest. Though my collection is vast, my time is taxed...so unfortunately, I will be unable to accomodate request! My first installment... TCPMP, 16x9 Screen, DVDrip, Formated for Mobile Screens: QVGA, and Thai Lang, Eng Sub. The Original Thai Version: Shutter (2004) By daredlight at 2009-01-02 "Tun is a professional photographer in Bangkok. Late one night, following a spate of heavy drinking at a close friends bachelor party, Tun and his new girlfriend Jane run down a young woman in the street and crash their car into a street side billboard. Seeing no signs of life from the woman Tun panics and the pair flee the scene without so much as calling for an ambulance. The next day he shoots a roll of film at his sisters graduation only to find upon developing them that the entire roll has been spoiled by a series of strange phenomenon: smears of light, strange shadows, indistinct faces superimposed upon the pictures. Though he initially looks for a physical explanation it soon becomes clear to Tun that he is being haunted." Trailer: Code:

Dicky dubs it CJ7 (and later, Little 7), because he sees it as a replacement “toy†for the one his father couldnt afford to buy him, a state-of-the-art robot dog called CJ1. Dicky takes Little 7 to school in the hope that it would be able to help him get out of various troubles, because the alien dog seems to have otherworldly powers. Or does it really?" Classic: Shaolin Master Killer By DaRedLight at 2009-01-02 "Gordon Liu seeks refuge at the infamous Shaolin Temple after the Manchus kill off his family. Starting at the bottom cleaning the temple, he progresses through all of the 35 chambers of martial arts training, eventually mastering them all...and how! Gordon as the lead in the 1978 epic, SHAO LIN SAN SHIH LIU FANG, which translates roughly to THE 36TH CHAMBER OF SHAOLIN. This phenomenal Shaw Bros. film was even a bigger hit than FIVE DEADLY VENOMS, and is a reference point for the hundreds of martial arts film that followed. You notice how nearly every martial arts film (American ones included) include a sequence about a student learning the martial arts through a rigorous training regimen? Well, all those movies can be traced back to this classic. In 1979, A distribution company called World Northal released the film in America as MASTER KILLER. Crash Cinema took it one step further and released it as SHAOLIN MASTER KILLER for the widescreen DVD release." Trailer: Code:

To clear his brother's name, he's forced to engage in a fight to the finish with a villainous bandit. The Young Master (1980) marks the first film Jackie Chan starred in (and also directed) for Golden Harvest, the film company that made Chan classics like Drunken Master II and Police Story III (a.k.a. Supercop). Chan plays Dragon, a student whose martial arts school is in competition against a more affluent rival school. The two groups face off in an annual lion dance competition in which Chan finds himself up against his own schoolmate Tiger, who is secretly being paid to perform for the rival school. When Tiger is found out and ejected from the group, Dragon goes after him. Tiger gets deeper into trouble, taking part in a robbery and jailbreak of the rival school's crooked headmaster, Kam. Through a series of mixups, Dragon is mistaken for Tiger and he has to clear his name in a final showdown against Kam (Whang Inn-sik). The last 30 minutes of The Young Master consists of nonstop fighting scenes, the first with Chan donning a makeshift dress to employ skirt-style kung fu. The second fight sequence is a 20-minute showdown of Chan vs. Whang, which showcases Whang's talents as a master of hapkido (a Korean style of martial arts)." Trailer: Code:

Master Kim vs. Master Kim vs. Master Kim (Three Kims) By DaRedLight at 2009-04-07 "This action-comedy tells the tale of two unrelated martial artists each named Kim, living in the same small village, and vying for the same girl. But their rivalry takes on new dimensions with a third martial arts master Kim shows up..." Trailer: Code:

Shaolin Soccer By DaRedLight at 2009-03-29 " An absolute blast; laugh-out-loud funny; and you'll catch yourself holding your breath during the action sequences! This film appeals to a very wide audience, even to people who usually dislike Stephen Chow. Shaolin Kung Fu proselytizer Stephen Chow unites with a washed up soccer star to build the ultimate team, combining sportsmanship with martial arts (think "Seven Samurai" meets "The Matrix" meets "The Waterboy"). Shaolin Kung Fu proselytizer Stephen Chow unites with a very washed up soccer star to assemble the ultimate underdog soccer team (think "Seven Samurai" meets "The Matrix" meets "The Waterboy"). Combining conventional sportsmanship with ancient martial arts, they will show their soccer rivals ("The Evil Team") that they're not to be trifled with. This film was by far the highest-grossing in Hong Kong this summer (2001), and many consider it Stephen Chow's best work--and his best chance to date at appealing to American audiences. The film features digital effects by brilliant HK workshop Centro Digital Pictures (Andrew Lau staple), and features a little something for everyone." Trailer: Code:

Mitch Hunter (Thomas Jane) and Nathan Rooker (Sean Pertwee), battle-hardened Capitol soldiers and best mates, fight a desperate battle against a Bauhaus advance. Their fight accidentally destroys a buried ancient seal, a great enemy to the whole human race is woken -- horrific necromutants whose weapons are deadly bone blades which mutate from their hideous arms. The mutant army strikes relentlessly and multiply by millions. Mitch Hunter barely manages to escape their violent attack but Nathan does not. When the four Corporations chosen leader, Constantine (John Malkovich), is preparing to give in, he is approached by Brother Samuel (Ron Perlman), keeper of the Chronicles, a book that prophesies both the rise of the mutants, and the coming of a ‘Deliverer’ destined to destroy them. Samuel believes he is that Deliverer. He implores Constantine to provide him with a ship and crew to pursue the prophesy of the Chronicles. Samuel manages to recruit fiercely independent Mitch Hunter to lead the perilous mission, along with honor bound Bauhaus officer Steiner (Benno Furmann); sword-wielding Severian (Anna Walton), volatile street fighter El Jesus (Luis Echegaray); fearless beauty Duval (Devon Aoki) etc. Confronting the monstrous undying mutants, a battle to defend all mankind as a whole is inevitable..." TCPMP, 16x9 Screen, DVDrip, Formated for Mobile Screens: QVGA, and Chin Lang, Eng Sub. Wu Shu 2008 By DaRedLight at 2009-03-23 "Jackie Chan serves as executive producer of Wushu - The Young Generation, starring a group of young martial artists with the potential to be the next generation of Asian action stars. Director Antony Szeto (fantasy animation Dragonblade) helms this action-packed tale of martial arts students who must face a variety of challenges as they prepare to graduate. Leading the pack of newcomers are the talented duo of Wang Wen Jie and Liu Feng Chao, both of whom accompanied Jackie Chan to the Cannes Film Festival to help promote the film. Besides Chan, the pair get an assist from another martial arts legend, Sammo Hung, who plays an honorable wushu instructor and father to one of the boys. Wushu teacher Li Hui (Sammo Hung) is looking to shepherd his two sons Li Yi (Wang Wen Jie) and Li Er (Wang Ya Chao) through school and into manhood. Li Yi is tipped to win a hotly-contested wushu competition, but he insists on performing his late mother's signature move, which is so difficult that it could cost him the gold medal. His friends have their own trials to face, but darkness intrudes when former wushu prodigy He Le (Tie Nan) attempts to kidnap some of the wushu students, and Li Er is among the abducted. Along with Li Yi and student Yang Yaowu (Liu Feng Chao), Li Hui tracks down the villains to a secluded estate, where the teacher and his students must harness their formidable wushu training in order to save their friends and bring He Le to justice." Re: Asian/International Cinema
There are a few that made requests, (those that know me personally), I will have some free time this month...provided that one can be patient, I can/will honor minimal requests. As I said, my library of movies are exceptional, it is my time that is limited. So please feel free to make a request, just provide; Title, Alternate Title (If known), and Main Actor/ress (If known), and allow me time to provide.

Re: Asian/International Cinema
[b][i]Good day all,
Quick note; these movies can be upconverted, I was questioned on that, so to answer...yes they can. I can also convert for viewing on PSP, which is a simple conversion from .avi files to .mp4. Please understand there may be a loss in picture quality depending on the type of conversion, such as DVD conversion. I do "Mobile Videos", for it's simplicty and smaller file size, and the convience (I travel a lot, plane/train). You can request for a particular conversion...again...TIME will be need to fullfil the request. Last edited by Superman369; 01-22-2009 at 06:37 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

To answer your question, I believe you would extract the subtitle folder and place it in the folder of the movie file, then open it with whatever media player you use. (I am assuming...it seems logical). Or better yet! Just watch my movies, the subs are already imbedded, and all my movies are hot! If you have a request for an International/Asian film, let me know. Sometimes I may have an english version too. |
