Howdy all
Hi! I'm new to this site. I have a Samsung i760 (a few years old-last year upgraded it from 6.0 to 6.1) and was thinking about replacing it. Where do I go in here to ask everyone recommendations on what to replace it with? :yahoo:I look forward to being involved in this site! Thanks!

Re: Howdy all
I've used Verizon for the past 10 years back when they were AirTouch. Most of time I've used Samsung Smartphones--starting with the i700 then i730 and now i760. I've seen quite a slow down in function over the years and I'm hoping to get a faster phone. I almost ordered an HTC Touch Pro last week but a Verizon rep said, "No, don't do it! It will lock up like all WM devices. Get the Blackberry Storm instead!" I am not a Blackberry fan at all as I've always used WM devices. I told the rep that my i760 doesn't lock up but it is quite slow, especially switching from portrait to landscape when sliding out the keyboard. Also, when I open up Word docs on it, I'd better have a few minutes to spare as it can take up to two minutes to open a text only document (if it's 5 or 6 pages). My i700 would open the same document in 5 seconds. Has anyone gone from the i760 to the HTC Touch Pro? If so, what pros and cons have you found? Is it worth spending the $ on new phone? I also use a Plantronics Pulsar 590E headset. I know, it's a huge "geekset" but it's awesome for listening to music and has a 12 hour talk time. Does anyone use this bluetooth headset with the HTC Touch Pro? Thanks for your response!

Re: Howdy all
I think the TP is a great device in every aspect. Fast, reliable, and dependable with every kind of accessory.
However, I did hear that verizon seriously crippled their version of the touch pro with a slower processor, less ram, and other software limitations. If you were on Sprint/ATT/Alltell, I would recommend the TP hands down, but since you are on verizon, do a little research before you commit. |
