PC Error Help (need assistance)
All my recent activity and limited released are due to all my browsing is now on my mobile so i cant do as much in opera as i can in my PC (i have new appreciation for Opera cuz its the best browser ever lol)
I have been getting this error on my PC for a couple of weeks now everytime i try to boot it up making it impossible to access windows. it appears after the splash screen (b4 the login page) and no matter how i try to boot up the OS (including Safe Mode) it always appear. Anyone know what caused this? hardware, software? Easy fix? Needs clean system wipe via CD? PS. i fixed the stuck Cd disk tray myself so i can use it now (yay me) I was talking to JeW and im still waiting to download the new OS but i was hoping on a more clear explanation of the error. Thanx Last edited by Mike20PR; 02-22-2009 at 04:58 PM. |

One unfortunately common problem is data corruption on a hard drive and the dreaded “Unmountable Boot Volume” error. While the easiest thing to do may seem to be to format the drive and start from scratch, there is a better way of doing it, as long as you have a Windows XP installation disk handy. Read on to learn more. Computer hardware wears out over time, it’s a fact. Your hard drive works constantly reading and writing data, and this (among other factors) may cause errors on certain parts of your system. If you receive the “unmountable boot volume” error and have an installation disk, you still have a chance to save your system. 1. Insert your XP installation disk into an optical drive and boot up your computer. 2. When you see a welcome screen, hit the R key on your keyboard. This will enter you into recovery mode with a DOS prompt. 3. Now type chkdsk /p and hit Enter. This will launch a utility which will check for errors on your hard drive. 4. After the process is done, type fixboot and hit Enter to repair any damaged boot files which may have become corrupted. When asked to say yes or no, type the Y key on your keyboard. 5. Type exit and press the Enter key to reboot your computer. If all went well, you should now be able to boot back into Windows without a problem! Good luck! by the way this goes for vista as well.... Re: PC Error Help (need assistance)
Before you do anything else, try to update your MBR (master boot record) by inserting a recovery cd like Harddisk manager from paragon. In the menu you have an option to update your MBR. I do not promise you that it's going to work but you can try. If not format your HD with the same prog and make a clean install. After that make a backup with Macrium Reflect.

Re: PC Error Help (need assistance)
I recognize that this a bit of dated thread, but in the interest of keeping the forum clean, i am posting into it due to the title......
for awhile now (ok, so i admit that i am not the sharpest knife in the drawer) i have gotten the following error whenever I use a USB drive, or my SD drive or sync to my xv6800.... Cannot load resource dll: REPLRES.RLL The specified module could not be found From what i have been able to read from searching google etc. is limited......seems to be tied to MS OFFICE 07.....which is still the factory install from when i got the puter.......i never activated it because i mostly use OpenOffice.org....... Anyone have any ideas on what i might be able to do? It does not appear to affect anything, but just gets a bit on the annoying side. Thanks very much Last edited by DenverDev; 07-13-2009 at 01:02 AM. Reason: additional info |

Re: PC Error Help (need assistance)
dash has a point here, it might have something to do with the trial version of office that was put on your computer. it could also have something to do with how your computer handles SQL queries; however this would be weird to happen only when pluggin in USB devices. Another possibility is that your SQL Server Replication Synchronization Manager Handler is corrupt which would mean you need to replace or rename your replsync or replres in your C:/Program Files/Microsoft SQL Server/80(or 90)/COM/ directory after they are renamed you should no longer get message.

Re: PC Error Help (need assistance)
the best way to resolve that without recovering any DATA whatsoever would be to delete the partition thats there (C: drive) and then reformat that drive and create a new partition. You can use Windows XP OEM (best is corp ver.) and it has a recovery tools to possibly let you into windows to recover the DATA before reformatting and creating a new partition... just pm me if you still need help...
