GPS still cant connect after aGPS fix and Vallhalla cab
Well, after more endless hours of trying to enable GPS on my Verizon VX6900, I'm still stuck.
I successfully updated the bootloader to 3.21 and Radio to 3.37 and then flashed a custom ROM. This time, after installing the Verizon DCD cab, and doing a ##778 (with this custom ROM, I discovered by trial and error and searching these forums, I just needed to add a # after #778 for #778#). I entered the new A Key from Verizon tech support after getting the 'could not authenticate' error when I tried to dial calls. So now I can access data again and also now access MMS messages and I can make and receive calls again (hoorah). But the problem is that I still cannot connect to GPS. I installed the Valhalla cab per several forum instructions. No go. I then applied the Verizon aGPS fix (I'd link to the file but know I can't post with links) using QPST and the settings here: PDE IP Address: 66.174.95.132 PDE Port Number: 8888 PDE Transport: IP Position Calculation: PDE Then I installed the GC Verizon aGPS.cab afterwards and did a soft reset. I verified the registry settings to: Make sure GPS registry settings afterwards are on in Hkey local machine/Software/HTC/SUPL AGPS: Registry Key namevalueEnableAGPS1EnableGPSSmartMode1GPSMode4Ser verIP66.174.95.132ServerPort8888 I did a soft reset. I verified the External GPS settings and made sure the location service was on. It's a little overcast tonight, so I tried my Garmin GPS just to troubleshoot, and it can find satellites fine. I installed Windows Live Search too, and it hung on "tracking position..." I changed the GPS settings to Com 4. This is truly infuriating... LOL... Help? --------- New Post Merged on 29/3/2009 at 04:08:10 -------- Also, Google Maps now no longer waits on Initializing GPS for a few seconds and goes straight to 'Tracking satellites (0)'... It eventually tells me it cannot connect to GPS. Help? --------- New Post Merged on 29/3/2009 at 04:44:21 -------- Also, I tried using Holux GPS viewer to prime the GPS. It does locate the GPS on com port 4 but it doesn't connect to satellites. Last edited by egalitarian; 03-29-2009 at 05:44 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Re: GPS still cant connect after aGPS fix and Vallhalla cab
It looks like this software is $99.99. Any way to acquire it easier?
--------- New Post Merged on 29/3/2009 at 01:26:43 -------- I'm using Dresdillee's TouchFlo ROM. I also saw in a thread somewhere that there is a 3.42 radio somewhere... Any clue? How would I start from scratch again? Would I flash the radio first (since SPL/bootloader is Cokeman 2.31) again, then not let customizations run by soft resetting, then run the custom ROM again, then run the DCD carrier CAB and Valhalla cab or do the QPST aGPS fix? In what order would you recommend? The problem is that there aren't a ton of Touch/Vogue custom ROMs out there. I had tried OMG's but I like Dresdillee's better. I'd like to try to find the fabled Harvey's black Vista somewhere. I want classic games like Frogger, Pacman, and Dig Dug. I'd like Voice Recognition of some kind, and then preinstalled Google Maps and Livesearch. But I'm open to using the custom ROM you might recommend that you KNOW works. Thanks for your assistance.
