Access denied on hard drive

hey there everyone!!
well once again i need some expert help here!!! lol
well long story short .... i can't access my Factory partition hard drive!!!
im running windows 7 ultimate x64
with 2 hard disk drives and one external hard drive!!
my local HP(C:) which is 500GB
and my second hard drive local (D:) which is 12.5GB and this is my original factory system recovery drive!!!
and well i have my 2TB external hard drive also!!
but the problem is... i can see nor have access to my local (D:) my original Factory Partition 12.5GB hard drive!!!!
and well now i cant tell if my partition is deleted or what since i can access it!!!
if i double click my local (D:) hard drive i get this


and if i right click/ properties i get this
nothing!!!


i really need some help here specially since its my original factory partition!!!
if anything goes wrong i can always get my pc to go back to system recovery but not if my partition is gone lol!!!!
any ideas???

ya reformat erase the drive make it one full drive. then make a backup disc. what i did. i mean honestly do you really wanna go back to vista or xp? i did a fresh install. then created a backup disc. option is in 7 under system restore....

yeah thit the same dont think you can acces factory partition thats build in ho needs it unless for warranty isseu but my lappy when in for repair whit windows 7 rtm and ubuntu on they still fix it

ya you can i have erased factory partition on ever machine i own. plus work on. you gotta do it from a install disc.

yeah erased it that i now i use darick boot to nuke to wipe hd but from whit in windows dont think you can view this partition you can see it in diskmgment thats al think

when you say factory hardrive are you referring to a program "factory" ? or when you bought the computer default hardrive? because to my knowledge when you buy a computer from the company even though it say that you have like 120 gig of space but maybe 3 or 4 gig maybe for recovery which is kinda lame.I prefer the disk. And in that partition you wont be able to access at all you can only see that in disk management.Gateway is known for the crap..

Like the guys mention and i do all the time is wipe the drive and install a fresh copy of windows and go to the site and download the drivers that the os didn't pick up..

I do this all computers i buy..because i hate when they to that type of crap
