Rss Feed Does the Galaxy A56 have Galaxy AI? Let’s settle this once and for all

The Galaxy A56 is a fan-favorite Samsung phone for 2025, but the company's naming strategy has left many users wondering if the Galaxy A56 actually has Galaxy AI. Here’s the definitive answer. The short answer is no, but due to how Samsung promotes its AI features and Galaxy A devices, there's still some confusion surrounding this topic.

You can actually check for an answer on your Galaxy A56 at any point. Open the Settings app and look for a Galaxy AI category. You won't find one. Instead, you can find an Intelligent Features category inside Settings > Advanced Features.

Here's a short history lesson that might explain things better. When Samsung first launched Galaxy AI for its premium phones, it referred to it as “Advanced Intelligence.”

So, while the Galaxy A56 does have some “Intelligent Features,” they are not technically a part of the “Advanced Intelligence,” i.e., Galaxy AI suite.

The fact that Samsung placed “Intelligent” Features under “Advanced” Features on the Galaxy A56 doesn't help clear the confusion. It doesn't take much to connect these words and mistake the whole thing for Advanced Intelligence (Galaxy AI).

Plus, the fact that Samsung's Galaxy A ads mention “Awesome Intelligence” as a marketing term doesn't help either. There are too many “intelligence” terms, but there is a relatively easy way to make things easier to understand.

So the Galaxy A56 has intelligent features but no Galaxy AI. What's the difference?

There are Galaxy AI features, and then there are intelligent features. That's it.

The way they differ is that Galaxy AI features are more powerful and often have multimodal and “generative” capabilities. Thanks to advanced machine learning, they can generate content from prompts.

For example, the Galaxy AI Drawing Assist tool can create new AI-generated images from prompts or rough sketches submitted by the user.

The Galaxy A56 doesn't have such advanced generative AI tools, but it does feature a handful of regular intelligent tools.

  • Object Eraser: Erase people and objects from photos.
  • Best Face: Fixed photos where people have their eyes closed or awkward expressions.
  • Edit suggestions: Discover new ways to improve photos.
  • Custom filters: Create filters based on the mood and style of a reference image.
  • Auto trim: Cut videos down to their best moments.
  • AI select: Select anything on the screen and get suggested actions.
  • Read aloud: Listen to webpages.

While these intelligent features can enhance the experience in an AI-like fashion, none of these tools boast the powerful generative capabilities of the Galaxy AI tools you'll find on pricier phones.

So, that's the difference. Hoping to settle this once and for all, the Galaxy A56 does not have Galaxy AI “Advanced Intelligence.”

It has some intelligent features, or non-generative AI (Artificial Intelligence) features if you want to stretch the definition that far.

And as far as “Awesome Intelligence” goes, that term doesn't really mean anything apart from being a clever marketing label.
