eh d/\sh i got an awesome app idea although it wouldn't be using the gsensor, ive had this idea in meh head for a while but maybe we can pull it through, ok so theres a program out to convert your wifi input signal to an output signal so my idea is to change a wifi signal into an antannae signal. for example, you are at your house and you have the wifi on on your phone and you need to make a phone call, since you are on wifi and close to a router you have high wifi signal and your in the basement (real life scenario for me lol). you lose signal all the time BUT converting the wifi to send out to antannae= good signal maybe? what do you think?

I'm not 100% positive but I do not believe it is possible to convert a wifi output into a cellular signal and even if it did convert that cell reception would only reach as far as the wifi of the phone goes which is not far at all. Your best bet if you are in this situation where your cell reception goes in and out is to get an Airrave put out by Sprint not too long ago, just hooks into your internet and boosts your signal to make calls.

well i got an idea for a new app, ^_^ i just saw a commercial for a new product that came out its called the slacker radio. its got a device and is suppose to come out on the black berry. maybe you could emmulate us an app fer our ppcs. and your wanting to do apps with the g sensor, well we could have gestures be programmed into it for like skipping or playing, like maybe flip the phone over to pause it or something like that. ^_^ anyways its slacker.com

I saw a release for somethinglike this just a couple days ago from verizon. its a device that hooks into your home internet connection and acts as an actual cell tower with own signal source. its also wifi capable but as far as signal conversion, I too don't believe that's a capability youll find on anything out there at the moment.

well all youde really have to do is design an app that runs fromt he website because you can play it from the website. just like with xm radio. and when youlaunch it it will tap into your 3g network

i have been saying this since i joined this site.....we should be able to browse other device's files via bluetooth!!!! I refuse to believe that i can't have technology that was on cell phones from 6 years ago. NO!!!! sorry......i'm just very adamant

i just dont like the idea because many phones with the bluetooth feature are basic phones too and they have no way to password it would protect the personal files..... i jsut wouldnt want some people to take that out of hand and use it to snoop even though it would be pretty cool. the only way that it would work is if both parties are using the application on their device so i guess that fixes that problem....... ill look into it when i get into my classes starting next semester.... thanks for the idea :>

well in thats admiral and understandable. In the very least however like on the razr you first have to pair phones with a security number and even then after that perhaps you could have settings for each person in the "trusted devices" page with check boxes for each person showing what level of permissions they may have when paired or better yet (with the growing size of storage on devices and the amount of time it would require to browse via bluetooth) you could have just a shared folder like you do with networking.

SUp man... I came to this website because of one of your youtube vids. F-in awesome! Anyways, an early post mentioned the maze idea as an option for unlocking the phone. Not a fan of that idea, but what i do think would be kinda kool is if you created an unlock "design" that the user could trace with their thumbs. Something similar to the iphone slide across which is good, but plain. SO.... if there were a way you could open a program/app like deal-e-o and draw out your very own unlock design, then your options are endless. So, instead of creating a particular unlocking mechanism, create a program that gives you option after option. Also.... I would like to be able to do TouchFlo3d in landscape. If these aren't plausible, hope they atleast spawn some slammin ideas! Holla

even if they come out with an app for ppc you can still take and come up with your own version and have it use hand gestures. hell once you get gsensor coding figured out you can gsensor like all radio apps out there and that would be sweeet.

I mentioned this earlier in my last post on the cube config thread... How about a "TF gaming cube"... where you could take like the Icube/touch flo cube app (or something like that); plug in a bunch of your favorite games/emulators w/ some cool graphics (like guitar hero, myst quake or pacman, etc) or even some multimedia apps like slingplayer or something... maybe make it customizable so if ppl didnt like some of the stuff you loaded on it they could swap out for their top choices; maybe make it Gsensor sensitive so those who have the diamond or pro could shake it or something and it'd turn sides(i.e the new ipods) but still functional for those who dont, with sdhc support so it could run from the memory card because it'd probably take up a good chunk of mem...

I think people would download that... i know I would, and its probably do-a-ble since its not something you'd have to build 100 percent from scratch, you just probably have to have enough patience to combine a few different app already floating out there in a functional way....

So what do yah think... too much?

well im looking for new ideas and since the cube is over 2 years in development and the cube config tool will allow you to do what you need i think that will go to the side for me at least....... im looking at doing apps for the vga devices first than i will redo for the qvga if they are a hit :>

I was thinking is there any way to use the round touch sensitive button (used to zoom on web pages or change text size) to scroll though the tabs, contacts, or even files and folders? Is this possable? I always seem to click on a contact or folders when scrolling with my finger.

I don't know if one is out there (at least not that I can find)... I would like to see an add on or modification to the bluetooth settings (or at least a program that is capable of the same). Something with the look and feel of the TouchFLO3D Comm Manager style screen.

I want to be able to connect to a bluetooth device with one (or two) finger press. As it is I have to go settings or comm manager > then to bluetooth settings > then HOLD click the device I want to connect to (typically with the stylus as it is tiny) > then select whether I want to delete, edit, connect as headphones, or connect as earpiece.

Too many steps in my opinion and not finger friendly. I personally use my phone as an MP3 player and have multiple devices that operate on the stereo bluetooth profile. I would love to be able to connect to a device and use the profile that I am looking for and make this a smooth and easy process to execute.

Hopefully this makes sense... I know this doesn't use the accelerometer, but it is a program idea.

okay. i think i may have one for ya but it may be a little advanced and be conditional in its application as to what device you are wanting to use it for. I use to have a program on my mogul and on my 6700 that utilized the infrared sensor (while device was in docking station) to create a primitive schematic of the room and when this map spread was interupted (by motion) it would set of an alarm on the phone making it my own 'motion sensing alarm'. I was thinking that perhaps something similar could be done with the pro or diamond. Since they don't have the infrared ports like their predecessors, then maybe it could be done with the built in camaras. Maybe this link might help things along in the thinking process.

(it's not that this link will help you with the process just help give some ideas to practical application)

Also when motion detection has occured the camara on your device could be set to record for an amount of time set the user's choosing. So on and so forth. Tell what you think.

Not a game, doesn't use the g-sensor, but EVERYBODY who has ever modded their ppc or will mod it will LOVE this app. (I just did my 1st ROM flash yesterday which is why this is on my mind).

Why not make an 'app' that takes an image or a mirror of ALL your ppc (In my case a TP) configurations, email passwords, programs which are in your quick access program screen, tweeks, color choices and etceteras? So to make this idea clear...when you flash a ROM, why not have a way to reinstall every single thing you had in your previous ppc with a simple click or something? Duz this make any sense? Color me dumb but this seems SO obvious!

ummmm its called selboriyorker backup, sprite backup, resco backup, eficasoft backup, etc, ...... asnd you cant ever do a full restore from rom to rom since that will just change the registry right back to the old version.

hey dash i just stumbled on an app for my ipod that i would love to see for the touch diamond. its called Emergency Radio. its an app where u can listen to live streams of police and fire radio communications. Let me know what u think of that idea.
