ok i installed the other 2 things and idk if it installed or not and than i ddi the keygen and put it in the folder and dont seem like it worked it still ask to begin trial. also it wont pick up gps. it says i need to connect to like another garmin gps device!?

OK you installed all three files to the storage card? I am going to assume that you did. Use wordpad and copy the serial from the keygen into the file, and then click SAVE AS. In the save as box second from the bottom is a save as type box. Change it from Text Documents to All Files. Save the file as sw.unl. If you do not change the file type you end up with sw.unl.txt and that wont work.

Also how bout tapping the Thanks Button. Your profile says you have never used the Thanks button.

Just one Question: I think i did everything right. When i go to subscription staus it say free subscription, should it say somthing else or did i unlock it right?

Nevermind just answered my own ?. I deleted the sw.unl file and it prompted me to purchase, when i put the file back in it the purchase screen was not there.

All three files are together in the RAR file.

i already got it thx anyways now i just need the maps since everytime i open garmin nav it only shows me the highways and when i click on home or addresses and the other ones it says:

alright here is the situation I really need help. I have installed this and could never get it to connect to the gps and it sits there scanning the bluetooth and then the attached. I am using the 6.1 sprint rom with internal gps built in. I don't know why it won't go passed this screen but it just will not. Any help would be appreciated. by the way I am using 4.20.20 but this is the only thread that is still alive

the error message I get is (unable to locate garmin gps device. connect to other gps devices?

you might also want to try 4.20.50 just search its there

Question: Have you verified that you are fetting a GPS fix in any other prog like google maps? The very first time you get a fix no matter in what program, your TFF (Time to first fix) will take a while. You should run google maps and select USE GPS from the menu when you're outside in clear view of the sky. Leave your device motionless for a good 20 minutes, even after it gets a fix. That 20 minutes of motionlessness will allow your device to get a good idea of where its supposed to look for the satellites for future fixes. After that, you should be golden.

Then Garmin should connect on its own w/o a primer/buffer once you get your first fix. Also, make sure you're on COM port 4 @ 4800

If you're not getting a fix in any program, something else is wrong.

tried the newest one and that doesn't work either. The problem is that when I go into system settings in garmin it says that I can only use garmin gps hardware. So I check online and did a search and I am getting word that it is not registered. I thought this was cracked so I didn't have to register. I did the sw.unl file and saved it in the garmin folder and reset and still asks for the registration code so I don't know what's up.

it does work bro if you follow the steps and add the numbers it tells you to from the keygen you will be fine.

Use Notepad on your PC. Copy the number the keygen gives you into notepad. Go to file, save as, and this is the important part.... In the "save as type" dropdown menu, select "all files" and then save as "sw.unl" (no quotation marks).

Edit: Make sure it doesn't end up saved as sw.unl.txt. the extention should be .unl

Ok, so I've read everything and am anxious to get this thing hooked up. But I guess my Device Name is too long for the keygen. What can I do about this. I tried to shorten it, but the keygen then says that its not the valid card ID.

Garmin = Free @ Wckediden

It will be OK with both installed. I had Tom tom, sprint nav, Igo, and garmin all at once.

I don't necessarily think its better. Just different. Now that I think about it, I never did get around to using sprint nav becaus I had to pay. My boss has it though and likes it.

I use Igo8 personally. Garmin maps take up a good little bit of storage space, and it kind of tricky to get to work if you're at all new to this.

Between Igo, Garmin, and TomTom, I chose Igo to be the one I kept because of its small storage space, and works really nice. Garmin does offer gas prices thought which is nice these days.

If you like sprint nav though, its just as good I think...

When I used Garmin, the maps were kind of a pain to get onto my ppc. You have to use Garmin's Map Install prog, and there are a bunch of hoops you have to jump through. You can't just drag & drop. There is a thread covering the maps in the sticky section of mobile apps. It was a little bit of a pain in the A$$.

The maps should be downloadable in that other thread though.

Edit: Oh, and yes, the maps should only be installed to the storage card probably. They take up a lot of space....

One thing I liked about this over Sprint Nav is that I can use Live Search to find a business and add to contacts, then this has an option to map to a contact. Can't go to contact w/ Sprint Nav, far as I could tell. Since I haven't used this in a while (since I upgraded to the newer OMJ ROMs) does it still randomly reset the time to 5pm? Thanks.

if you look up the contact first....and click menu...you can select drive to... and it will nav right to the address.....works pretty well :grin: ....i am still deciding on the garmin thing.....i might try it.....and then once completed and i get used to it....then i will blow it all away and upgrade to kaos take 3.....unless of course the man comes out with one that is even more kick ass......

hey im having trouble getting it to connect so i can get the unitid and keygen, it keeps saying server could not process re quest pls contact tech support....? my internet works too i just check it, i also tryed to connect to a garmin gps and it just keeps doing that scanning attached and bluetooth, so after about 15 mins i skipped it and i went back to main screen and it still wont connect. what am i doing wrong?

ok i unpacked had 10 rars. i unpacked those so basically i run all the rars in the specified order? then run the keygen and attack as swl file? but for each one theres a crack so do i just paste all 10 in the same swl file?

With the 10 rars, highlight all of them and extract them at the same time. Once that is done, you should see one folder that was created. Double click that, you will be golden.

i got it lol believe it or not i just unpacked the first rar and ran the exes and it went through my problem came out to be i was saving as a sw.unl.txt file because i forgot to change the setting from worde doc to all files.... i would make note of that in install notes because that seems to be a commong mistake. atm im getting the mapsource put on it ^_^

yes the time is an known issue with this and the changing automatically of time zones.

i fixed it on mine heres the simple reg change to fix it.

Automatic/Manual Time Sync


Edit Regkey HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting

Look for HiddenTimesyncPage and set the value to 0

soft reset your phone and your phone should now sync up to the nearest antannae.
