thats the best part yes it will work with the diamond it will just take longer and the inside doesnt die but that doesnt matter :> so diamond owners you can have your black battery cover and get rid of the red that many hate :>

Hey D/\sh, that's slick...but how did you apply the dye? Did you brush it on or dip it? I didn't think you could brush on dye... And if you did dip it, how did you keep the the camera lens clean? I don't want to ruin the only cover I have!

about 10 nano seconds after I saw D/\SH's vid I was at the store buying me some Black Rit dye. Simmered some water (bout 2 cups), poured the whole package of dye in, stirred as instructed for 30 min (but I kept firing up the burner under my pot) to keep nice and hot, no NOT that hot (don't melt the sucker!). 30 minutes later I had a VERY nice BLACK TP batter cover. Just put pot with dye and cover in sink, run warm water till water in pot turns more or less clear, then slam on the cold water to 'set' the dye!!!! NO SALT, NO detergent, just simmered water, dye, stir for 30 min. flush as above, dry and joy results.
Way cool!

you can redye the current ones you have... all you have to do is use 1000 grit sandpaper and scuff it lightly than redye.....also you cna go into sprint stores without one and tell them that your phone is on the recall list esn wise and you dropped it and when you did the battery cover broke....... they will go in the back and get you one :> i went to multiple stores and now have 5 of them :>

Thanks.

ive already stated in this thread what you can do to get them.... jsut go intot the stores without one n your phone and tell them your waiting for spritn to get the new ones in stock since your esn was on the recall list and your battery cover broke when dropped.... they will get you hooked up if they have any in the back..... they just wont sell them since they are for repair....

no dryign needed bro.... once you take it out of the pot from cooking all you have to do is run it under cold water and than take a rag of an old pair of jeans and buff the living hell out of it for about 2-5 minutes and you will be fine and ready to go :> (the buffing takes the small imperfections out of the dye job as well as take the surface dye off of the cover so there is no bleeding. )

Heres mine from my diamond and has anyone else did it on the diamond because most of the covers i do turn into dark colors like this one its supposed to be purple maybe its because the diamonds back cover is dark because when i seen a purple back on a pro it looked much better and sorry for the bad quality

when i dye the cover do i face the lens up or is it ok to dye inside of cover

you drop it so it is completely in the dye and water.... and as said already in this thread and many others it will not stick to the clear plastic lens.

when i did it i was scared and turned on the heat till hot then turned off stove... then turned on when cooled then turned off when hot... again and again... took 10 min... but i used navy blue and put it in for long because the fact that black was gone.. and i'm guessing because it was of Wckediden lol.... but my back is black right now... and blue in some angles..
hopefully this makes sense... good luck junkies... remember not too hot.. lol... and another thing... sprint is being a punk for not letting me have extra battery covers... damit... ;(... wanted to try designs next.. lol...
