vzn and sprint touch pro installs the same

noob here. tried searching with the keyword verizon but i didn't see this addressed.

Is the install process for all things touch pro the same for sprint and verizon? getting my vzn touch pro tomorrow and just wanted to get ready to install some of these awesome skins.

also, i'll be reading up some more but is there a recommended sequence in installs to improve performance/functionality?

The first and best thing to do to make a Touch Pro better, is loose VZW and come over to Sprint!!! Lol, VZW version sucks big time. Just some advice and my opinion.

i would recommend looking below at my signature and reading the noob guide...... lots of useful information in their for noobies :noob:

gotcha thanks, so it's safe to assume that installs are the same between all touch pros regardless of carrier?

Hey bro, I don't know if you've seen this or not yet....but look at this video review of the VZW version of TP. Its alot worse then sprints or even at&t version. Just trying to help you out and make sure you see all the angles before you make that big purchase.

so I have to ask, without running a modded rom, I really can't install anything on a vzn touch pro can I? I haven't seen anything that specifically says for vzn touch pro.

I'm specifically looking at JD's Rom and Hibbys Pro Rom 17. Curious as to whether the vzn pro can be streamlined for better battery efficiency and a few skin mods but it seems that none of the roms available now cater to the vzn user (yes yes insert joke :P). thanks again

i picked up my vzw tp and a friend of mines has got the sprint version and verizons got way better stock apps and the performancce is pretty much = so maybe u should check dat out playboy and y would u tell that man 2 go to sprint when there could be a possible sprint demise,ive been wit vzw for ten yrs and im not sayn all of them were good but ay least 9n a half outta ten,good luck wit sprint thought

just the bloat apps no big deal and the rest of the phone is crippled, less ram, less memory, no g-sensor, magnet for stylus missing, keyboard is messed up, etc..... junk of a phone to tell the truth.

I think dash touch on this earlier but you may have missed it... you can install pretty much any wm apps out there(even on your stock rom)... its the roms you may have trouble with... you'll have to find carrier specific roms (meaning romos made for verizon or at least verizon compatible) when your reasearching your rom they'll post weather it verizon compatible or not... but the apps and moods and tweaking and such can even be done on your stock rom. How well the phone performs when using those apps is a different story. But you wont ever see apps posted as saying verizon touch pro app... it'll say wm, or qvga/vga... or for accelormeter etc
it'll be up to you to determine which apps will work best or at all on your phone... but in general wm apps

Yea man, like me, dash, kaos and many other members have stated....the VZW version is crippled. They took so much of the phones capabilities away. Not just software, actually hardware. Stuff you cant just replace. I see you got plenty of posts, so you should know this already. Atleast know to look at the research and reviews before posting about something. Also, stock apps arent that big of deal, especially when you got a site like this with TONS of aps to pick and choose from.

re vzn: it's factual that the phone is crippled but eh, the cost of buying out of my contract with 3 lines isn't worth it for me at this time to move to sprint.

ouch, 3 lines would kill you to cancle the contract. That sucks man. And everything should work for your phone that doesnt use hardware that VZW tok out(such as the Gsensor). And like he said, the roms wont work for you unless made for verizon. Good luck brother.

anyhow, yeah i haven't seen any rom yet that supports vzn users and the only things so far that i've done is installed a few themes. I went over the noobs guide but didn't find any apps that supports vzn either; am I just not seeing them?

do your thinking carrier....its a wmm phone.Think PC..any wm6 or 6.1 appz even some 5.o will work

id say take it back and get your money back... if i couldnt have the pro from sprint i think and emphasis on i had to stay verizon i would have to say i would go with the samsung omnia which is supposed to drp there very soon. its going to be pretty sweet... not going to touch our pro tho!

thanks. appreciate the effort. yeah, it(omnia) was available for purchase via vzn's store the same time i ordered the tp but as I've mentioned I have 3 lines on the family share and don't think it's worth it for me to buy out of the contract for all 3 at this time.

re omnia vs tp: I went with the tp cause of the hard keys; had the iphone but typing on the screen was such a chore.
