Help With TouchFlo2D for Mogul

I've tried updates 19 through 22 so far (3 or 4 failed attempts), and still everytime after I setup everything and then do the last normal reboot/soft reset... My phone gets thrown into the safe mode reboot loop prompt, even when following the prompt and trying to boot into safe mode I still get stuck in the loop everytime... I don't know what I'm doing wrong since I'm following the steps and installing the cabs in or of 1 through 9 as they're named...

If anybody has any better ways or alternate modes of installing M2D/TF2D please tell, as I'd like to use this but keep getting stuck...

I've got an HTC Mogul/Titan/6800 if that helps any with your suggestions..

if you are trying to do an upgrade then you need to do a hard reset after each upgrade. its just how the install does.. if you want to try flashing a rom try flashing the m2d rom its on the forums once you flash the rom its cooked into it so it runs smoother then an actual isntall. i am actually running it myself. its on our forums under supported roms.

yes if you flash a new rom it clears everything aswell. the best way to flash is actually to use its called pimbackup. you can put the file on your storage card. then just backup all your calls contacts and what not.

Thats the thing, I'm not trying to flash a new room, jus install manilla2d/touchflo2d with one of the lil kits that you can find all over...

but listen, why would you NOT want to go ahead and do the flash, your device is going to be much more stable and run alot more smoothly with the TF2D!!!????

When you start "installing" and running alot of "cab" files and updates and stuff, it's going to eventually start overloading your phone and it WILL WIG OUT! LOL it's just that it can only "handle" so much?

Do you also have the overclocking app? HTC PERFORMANCE? it helps alot too on slower devices! I used it on my mogul, did wonders! Works even better on my touch!

Okay and yea I agree, yes I do have that and I got it overclocked at the recommended speed not pushing it to 600...

I guess I'm jus iffy and all cauz I've never flashed a rom before, this is my first PocketPC..

One question, if I backed up my phone... Then flashed a new would it also load my carriers settings for me to make calls after I restored everything or would I have to do that myself, I had it flashed at metroPCS... I know I might have to also install a DCD or something I believe..

Also has anyone made a manilla2d/touchflo2d rom with gps, I tried searching but this forums search features isn't the greatest... When using more than one keyword it shows results for both words instead of the set as a whole... LoL

Mogul has very loow memory compared to other devices out, although its a great phone if you have other stuff already loaded on there, it will be difficult to get a stable install of M2d... trust me I used to have a touch (double the memory of mogul and it was difficult on that)...

your best bet is to do as Angie and monkey suggest and flash an M2d/TF2d rom and just reload your apps from there (whatever apps u may have thats not already included in your rom)...

but if your dead set against that and are still serious about installing M2D, i believe your going to have to remove your programs or just wipe the memory all together with a hard reset or clear storage, and start all over, this time intalling M2d first, as its going to be the largest, and your overall platform everything else is built on... Still if your gonna do all that, again I say... you may as well just flash...

ok, just suck it up and do it, seriously, you can ask anyone here, I was the BIGGEST scardey cat to flash my rom or mess with any registries or anything!!! it's not that hard. Just read through the tutorial several times and if you still don't understand the steps, let me know..........I will do my best to help.

1) about the radio, if you pick a ROM that is "specific" for your carrier, then I say NO, but then you may have to update your radio anyways, soft reset your phone and tell us what the numbers are beside the R in red when it boots??

2) and yea, I'm sure there are roms that have the GPS built in, you will have to search around for a mogul one with rev a gps! I can't remember the one I used with my mogul but it was TF2D and it ran like a charm, until the phone actually wigged out on me! not due to the apps or roms or anything, moguls seem to be dropping like flies here lately.

3) click search, then go down and click "advanced search", then there's a pull down menu that will say "search all" and then one that says "search titles only" something like that, I use the "search titles" only, then that way you don't get EVERY DARN thread where those words have been just mentioned and no real specific information, you know?

In the top bar, click on mobile resources, scroll down to rom releases (preferablly supported since thats where youll find the rom you will get the most help with here), and their you will find all your roms... yes the do have m2d rom w/ the GPS active... if in the rom details it says its for or has a metro pcs version then your good to go... if it is a generic rome you will need some sort of metro pcs 'carrier cab' (made by DCD) to activate your phone for your network

but you can find m2d-roms in the cooked rom section with gps....and i think they have metro as a carrier not sure....but read throught the thread b4 flashing....few things to do first...like unlocking and such....good luck.

Then the only other apps I'd need is a SMS Chat (since it's a nice threaded Text Messager), TCPMP, a good all-in-one messenger like IM+, resco explorer and all it's plugins and the Internet Explorer Tab Browsing plugin and lastly QuickMenu then I'd be all set....

Right now I'm using ThrottleLauncher's TF3D, it's good but certain TF3D themes are really buggy and lock up..

That rom does not have tf2d cooked in...you'd have to add it after u flash....here is a rom with tf2d built in

haha.. Thats the sameone I posted first(not Kaos's), the thing that concerns me with it is it says nothing about GPS or even REV A that I see...

So if it doesn't have GPS how hard would it be to add GPS to it, if at all possible?

on the follow up of take 4 reloaded i am actually running the original rom i have tested this one but there is a major issues with the beta.

There are a lot of known issues with the beta at this time:

1. Volume adjustment doesn't work with volume wheel
2. Brightness doesn't work, but work around here
3. IR is broke
4. MMS is broke
5. Custom cities in weather tab may not work?

the one before this is really stable and the only issue i had was everytime i closed an app my dialer would launch and the fix for it was to install a new dialer but heres link to the rom
