Features:

• * This skin provides extra functions to iGO8 to facilitate easier route planning and navigation.
  * Supported resolutions are 320x240, 240x320, 640x480 and 480x640 only.
  * Version 5.0 is currently available on the download page.

Installation Instructions:

• * Install the Speed Camera Voice files by unzipping the "audio" folder and copying it to the iGO8 folder on the SD Card.
  * Add the following entry to the sys.txt file On The Device, and also to the sys.txt file on the SD Card for any reinstallations:

  This will enable the tilt setting options on the "3D Smart Zoom" screen.
  
  * Install the skin by copying the "iGo8_Ultra.zip" file to the Content/Skin folder, then select it in the application "Skin" menu.
  * Install the Bluetooth Switcher by copying the "BTOnOff.exe" file to the "iGO8" folder On The Device.

Latest Version 5.0 Modifications:

• * Updated to be fully compatible with iGO8 Version 8.0.0.49545 dated 30th July 2008.

Redesigned "Plan on Map" screen with larger visible map area:

• * Added "Fit Route to Screen" button (disabled if no active route).
  * Added "Centre Cursor on Screen" button.
  * Added "Tap and Hold" to the new "Centre Cursor on Screen" button to centre the GPS icon on the screen. The cursor still remains selected so a normal Tap will now return the cursor back to the centre of the screen.
  * Added "Cursor" button to access the enhanced cursor menu (this returns to the cursor location even if there's an active route).
  * Added "Menu" button to go directly to the "Startup Menu".
  * Added "Tap and Hold" to the "Menu" button to give access to the "Pop-Up Info Settings" menu.
  * Added "Menu Switch" button to give direct access to the "Find", "Route" and "Detour" menus.
  * Added "Start Navigation" button to go directly to the "Map" screen.
  * Added "Zoom Preset" buttons (similar to navigation map with tap and hold to access the settings menu).

Redesigned landscape "Full Screen" mode accessible via the "Quick Menu":

• * Added a "Route Information" panel to the bottom of the screen which opens the "Trip Information" screen when tapped to allow customisation of the trip data fields.
  * Added a "Status Indicator" Strip to the bottom right of the screen which includes "Sound Status", "Record Status" and "TMC Status" icons.
  * Added a "Pop-Up Second Route Event" panel with visibility determined by the new "Map Full Screen Settings" menu. Tapping here opens the "Itinerary Screen" as usual.
  * Added a "Pop-Up Speed Camera" panel with "Tap" and "Tap and Hold" functions detailed in the "Voice Alert" section below.
  * Added rectangular backgrounds to the "Main" and "Second Route Event" panels.
  * Added "Tap on the Target Destination Name" at the top of the screen to repeat the last voice guidance instruction.
  * Added separate settings for navigation and cruise mode for the 3 trip data fields.
  * Added highlighted overspeed warning to the trip data current speed field. Optionally selectable via the "Map Screen Settings" or "Warnings" menus.
  * Added option to always show speed limit (when available) on the map. The "Visual Warning" checkbox is replaced by a multi-choice control with 3 options "Off", "Only when speeding" and "On" (new one, to always display speed limit).
  * Added timed fade out to the "Menu" button to match the other on screen buttons (configurable via the "Map Screen Settings" menu).
  * Added "Tap and Hold" to the "Menu" button to give access to the "Map Screen Settings" menu.
  * Added a "No-GPS Warning" button to the "Map" screen for the condition where there is a valid route but no GPS device available.

Map Full Screen Settings menu:

• * Accessible either via the new Settings ► Map Screen ► Map Full Screen Settings button or via Tap and Hold on the Quick Menu "Full Screen Mode" button with options to:
  * Enable or disable the "Pop-Up Second Route Event" panel.
  * Set the transparency of the "Pop-Up Second Route Event" panel, note that the "Pop-Up Speed Camera" panel will always display over this panel without transparency.
  * Set the distance to the next Route Event at which the "Pop-Up Second Route Event" panel displays. A setting of ◄On► here disables this function.
  * Set the distance to the "Second Route Event" from the "Next Route Event" for which the Pop-Up panel displays. A setting of ◄On► here disables this function.
  * Note: The settings are all in metres but remain correct irrespective of the regional settings.

Customisable Lane Information Arrows:

• * Added option to customise the size of the Lane Information on the Navigation Screen with settings of 100%, 150% and 200% accessed via the Settings ► Map Screen ► Lane Information buttons.
  * Setting of 100% allows a maximum of 12 lane information arrows.
  * Setting of 150% allows a maximum of 8 lane information arrows.
  * Setting of 200% allows a maximum of 6 lane information arrows.
  * Note that the arrows are displayed from the left so any missing arrows will be for lanes on the right, the default setting of 150% seems a good compromise, especially if you drive on the right.
  * Added optional coloured red and green transparent backgrounds for the lane information arrows, selectable via the Lane Information menu.
  * Added actual road lane marker as separator between the red and green lane information backgrounds, this will show short and long dashed lines, single continuous lines, double continuous lines and single continuous with dashed line in left and right handed combinations.

Pop-Up Info Panel with address and nearby POI's displayed by clicking on the map:

• * Configurable via the Map Screen Settings menu which is also accessible via Tap and Hold on the map menu buttons.
  * Option to display or hide the panel.
  * Option to display only POI's which are enabled and visible on the map.
  * Option to adjust the maximum search radius for POI's displayed in the panel.

Speed and Section Camera Voice Alerts with working overspeed alarms:

• * Configurable via Settings ► Warnings ► Speed Camera Settings ► Audible Warning ► Advanced.
  * Optional voice alerts in mph or kph dependant on regional units setting. Note that the regional setting must match the map you are using.
  * Configurable advance audible alert distance for speed cameras with range of 300 to 800 metres.
  * Overspeed warning tone alert at 200 metres if over the speed camera limit.
  * Overspeed warning tone alert if the average section speed exceeds the section camera speed limit.
  * Optional beep while approaching a speed camera or whilst section camera mode is active.
  * Adjustable voice and beep alert volume via slider. Note that in landscape mode this is on the sound settings page.
  * Tap the active speed camera icon to toggle between: All Beeps On Warning Beep reduced to Normal Beep All Beeps Off.
  * Tap and Hold an active section camera icon to terminate the current active section. For use when end of section camera is not detected.
  * Option to completely disable audible alerts for each separate category of speed camera, accessible via the "Speed Camera Settings" menu second page.
  * Speed Camera Voice Test menu accessible via the Speed Camera Settings menu second page. Tap and Hold on the speed camera icons, where applicable, to temporarily adjust the voice phrase timings.

Speed and Section Camera Voice Files:

• * Separate "audio" folder on the SD Card for the Speed Camera Voice files. This folder is required.
  * Option for male and female voice in "audio" folder selectable in the Speed Camera Settings menu.
  * Timing information for the voice "speed limit" second phrase is held in the "voice_sound_delays.ini" file in each voice "audio" folder.

Advanced Road Blocking Facility:

• * Added advanced road blocking facility to setup permanent customisable road blocks.
  * Added new buttons to the "Extended Cursor Menu" to Block/Unblock roads.
  * Added second page to "Manage" menu with new button to access and manage saved road blocks.

Additional "Plan on Map" buttons:

• * Added "Plan on Map" button to the "Startup Menu" in Advanced Mode to go directly to the "Plan on Map" view.
  * Added "Plan on Map" button to the "Place" screen accessed via the "Find" menu or one of it's options. This allows a found location to be entered directly onto the "Plan on Map" screen (note this is not available from the "Cursor" menu).

Find Menu Default Map Mode Toggle:

• * Added a "Default Map Mode" toggle button to the "Find" menu. This button combines a vertical arrow with the default map icon to differentiate it from the normal map buttons.
  * All "Find" menu selection buttons, for example "Set as Destination", now go to the map mode set by the "Default Map Mode" toggle button.
  * Added a "Default Map Mode" toggle button to the "More Options" page of the "Place Menu".
  * Added small "+" sign indicators to the normal map button icons in "Place Mode" to indicate the current "Default Map Mode" status.

Additional Hardware Button Functions:

• * Added switch function to the "Map" hardware button to switch between "Map" and "Plan on Map" views (similar to iGO 2006).
  * Added button click sounds to the hardware buttons to match the on screen click sounds.

POI Search Results:

• * Added detour distance and direction icon to the POI search results when searching for POI's along the route.

FlyOver Control Panel:

• * Added FlyOver Control Panel, which can be opened in flyover or simulation mode, with pause, resume and speed control options.
  * Repositioned the simulation "Stop" button so that the second route event is now visible.

Home Button:

• * Added a "Home" button to the "Find" menu which supports a single "Tap" to open the first favourite on the map, or "Tap and Hold" to immediately calculate a route to the first favourite.
  * The "Home" button "Tap and Hold" function supports the "Find Default Map Mode" and, depending on this setting, will go straight to either the "Map" or "Plan on Map" mode.
  * Added an option to either use the default "Home" name or the actual name of the first favourite for the "Home" button, configurable via the Settings ► Menu ► "Show Name on Home Button" option.

Miscellaneous Interface Modifications:

• * Added "Add Waypoint" button to the "Edit Route" screen, now easily accessed from the "Plan on Map" screen via the "Menu Switch" button.
  * Added "Paging" buttons to the list of saved searches available via both of the "Detour" buttons.
  * Added "Volume Slider" to adjust volume of Key Sounds to the "Sound Settings" menu (removed checkbox as this is now redundant).
  * Added Bluetooth button to the bottom of the "Quick Menu" to switch Bluetooth on/off. See below for installation instructions.
  * Added "Route Options" menu with additional settings (U-Turn Penalty, Start in Opposite Direction, U-Turn at Via Point, Recalculation Delay and Allow U-Turns) available from new "Options" button on the "Route Settings" menu.
  * Added "Truck" vehicle option. This definitely changes the estimated journey times but I'm not sure if it changes the actual routing.
  * Added "Avoid Next Turn" option to the detour menu.
  * Added "Show House Numbers Near Destination" configurable via the Settings ► Map Screen ► "House Numbers Show At" option. This will show house numbers in navigation mode, at the pre-configured advance distance, as you approach the destination.
  * Added tilt settings to the "3D Smart Zoom" settings screen. See installation instructions above.

iGO8 Interface Bug Fixes:

• * The Speed Camera Add/Edit menu now displays the correct units irrespective of the regional units setting.
  * Added a fix for the iGO8 "Off-Route Recalculation" bug. With "Off-Route Recalculation" initially on, loading a saved route and then answering "Yes" to the subsequent prompt turns off "Off-Route Recalculation" which is correct. But now, with the bug fix, tapping the green "Recalculate" icon on the "Map" screen will automatically turn "Off-Route Recalculation" back on again.

The Following Items will NOT be Included:

• * Option to start in "Map" mode if there is an active route.
  * Modifications to the current position triangular icon or added model cars.
  * Selection of fixed value overspeeding type.
  * Any form of compass on the map.
  * Display of current speed on the map.
  * Scenic routing option.
  * Recalculation button on the "Plan on Map" screen with various route types.
  * Full screen mode for Portrait resolution.
  * Any additional transparency of any kind.
  * More than 3 items in the trip information panel.
  * Any resolutions other than those listed above.
  * So I will assume that any request for these items has already been answered by this list.
