im not really sure what i'm doing wrong but each time it acts like it is loading then it just closes itself and doesn't ever run. suggestions would be helpful. especially since the install guide that comes with isn't all that useful.

i know the older version i used of this program worked with the older maps on the Mio GPS units. When i get to work today, ill check it out with newer Mio Maps and see what happens.

yes youi will need to use it as a buffer and make sure you have the gps locater set to automatic.

as already stated ear;ier in this thread no there is no fix for that and we have no clue why that is happening.

Dash, I was having this issue as well. What I did to solve it was:

1) Settings
2) Regional
3)Time and Time Zone Settings
4) Check both boxes:
A) Auto Time Correction to GPS
B) Use Auto Time Zone
5) If iGO8 has not already set your current time zone then set it. But, mine detected where I was automatically.

So now after I did this my regular time does not get messed up.

thanks i did that before i hard reset when i was testing that out and all but it will reverty back to old out of no where...... and i also didnt like how it changed the date format and how your not able to change that back to the stock way.

I did this yesterday and I used my gps several times since then and its not reverted back. Maybe you should give it another shot:)

Also, once I ran the PPST_080407_7500_SPCS_2.03.sa yesterday iG08 is the only thing I need and I get a sat link immediately even while inside.

Edit: Set your date format before you check the boxes off. Thats what I did and its still how I set it.

Edit2: Dash, did you add the modded sys file in yours?

tried this out yesterday and it never opened. Any Ideas? It asked for me to input language, and then pick a voice then it seemed to lock up. I soft reseted after downloading tried the normal troubleshooting techniques. Advice?

I noticed in the file downloaded there was a "data.zip" file, are the contents supposed to be seperately installed, and is that where the voices you are talking about come from? there will be folder under igo8 on your storage card named voics or somethign with them in there.

1. just starting the first step in downloading the necessary files but a little confused on which to download. do i download where it has the link http://rapidshare.com/files/113535006/iGO8_Lite.rar OR do i download from where it says iGO8 final version (which i tried on the link but it says file deleted by uploader!)???

2.and what is that link for Basemap : 2007.07 - 080117?? do i need this as well?

Love this Navigation, D/\SH.. Works perfectly with all the U.S. maps, poi's, buildings, etc.. that you provided.. The time zone issue that someone said would be fixed by checking the two "auto time" boxes in the regional settings area doesn't work for me, even thought it wants to change my time zone to the central "chicago" time-zone, It's an hour ahead for some reason.. So, like you stated before, it's still something that doesn't work.. Other than that, this is the best "free" navigation I've used so far...

I can't really tell where you are from but your signature would suggest Oklahoma. Chicago is in the Central Time Zone, as is all of Oklahoma.

For some reason, It puts the time into the Eastern time zone... At least, that's what it shows on my phone after exiting out of the iGO8 program.. Don't know why... If I select Mountain Time in the program, then it shows central time after getting out...

right you need the sys file from there ask him nicely and he may post it and ill edit it into the first post.......... thats wht fixes the clock as he clearly stats in the posts around it.......

bump....uhh....im hoping some people on here are nice enough to answer my post earlier about the downloading and which one to download...thanks people. glad everyone's got it to work but i cant get started yet. lol

they are the same the final or the rapidshare link straight up will work for download bro....

thanks for the answer dash...was wondering about my other question....the download link where it says... Basemap : 2007.07 - 080117 : Rapidshare....do i need to download that link as well.

downloaded the other link but it didnt say anything about this base map in the instructions. not sure if its another mirror or an actual requirement. if it is, then what do i do w/it?

thought i ask so i dont waste my free download time on rapidshare..lol

back to the thread....not sure if this will help or not but found this on the developers site under the support section....not sure how to do this. if anyone knows thats great. here it is:

Based on user feedback, we inform you that, in the current versions of Nav N Go iGO 8, the Windows time zone may be incorrectly set depending on the GPS position (for instance, Minsk is selected for Hungary). The correction of the error is in process.

As soon as the correction is made, we will immediately release an automatic update that can be downloaded free of charge with the use of the Content Manager. The exact time of the correction will be published on my.navngo.com. In case time-zone errors appear, you can temporarily correct them on your device by editing:
/Program Files/iGO8/sys.txt
and adding the following lines:
[timezone]
sync_os_timezone=0
reset_os_timezone=0
Attention: The modifications will only be activated when Nav N Go iGO 8 is restarted.

Nav N Go apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
