Samsung now manufactures AI home appliances in India
Borrowing a page from its mobile business in India, Samsung has announced that several Bespoke home appliances with AI capabilities are now manufactured locally under the Made in India initiative.
Through transitioning to local manufacturing, Samsung aims to ensure that customers in India can buy world-class products that are made specifically to meet their needs. What does Samsung mean by this? Well, as you might recall, a few years ago, Samsung released the Curd Maestro refrigerator for Indian customers. The Curd maestro can make curd overnight when given the right ingredients and instructions. Now, the Curd Maestro and other Samsung Bespoke home appliances will be Made in India at the Sriperumbudur factory near Chennai. Samsung will ensure that more Bespoke products can be made locally to serve Indians and their needs. What other home appliances will be manufactured locally? Back in August, Samsung released ten new washing machines in India. As it turns out, they're all manufactured at its plant in Chennai. The list of home appliances assembled locally is growing, and now, Samsung says the following products are now Made in India at its Sriperumbudur factory:
The story continues after the video The SmartThings mobile app enables Bespoke home appliance users to control various other functions remotely. Smart fridges can recommend recipes and meal plans. They can also notify you on your phone if you leave the door open. Smart Bespoke washing machines can be monitored remotely via SmartThings, and their AI can choose optimal settings for different loads. Some models also have a SuperSpeed mode that can reduce wash time by 39 minutes without compromising the wash performance. Samsung says it wants to continue to scale its operations in India and empower Indians with cutting-edge technology that is both sustainable and accessible.
