Samsung’s Knox Matrix security solution is coming to home appliances
Samsung is taking security on its home appliances to the next level by bringing Knox Matrix. The Knox Matrix security solution was brought to smartphones and then to TVs last year. Now, it has been brought to Samsung's home appliances.
Knox Matrix comes to Samsung's home appliances for improved security Knox Matrix, which provides security to interconnected devices, is coming to Samsung's home appliances. Those devices can mutually monitor each other for security threats and tell users about measures to stop attacks. Samsung also plans to bring mobile biometric authentication to its home appliances next year, reducing the need to enter login credentials, like passwords. The Knox Matrix solution protects devices and the network between them using private blockchain technology. It features three things:
The Credentials Sync feature was first introduced to the 2024 version of the Bespoke 4-Door Refrigerator with AI Family Hub. It uses end-to-end encryption for data shared between a device and a server. It also makes it easier to restore data when the user registers a new product. All connected home appliances from Samsung with a 7-inch or bigger screen will feature support for Passkeys. Passkeys can be used to log into apps or websites on home appliances using the fingerprint reader on the user's smartphone. They are considered more secure than plain old passwords. Samsung also plans to bring Knox Vault, its hardware-based security measure, to its home appliances starting next year. Sensitive data is stored on a separate hardware security chip, which makes it harder to breach. The company's home appliances have also received a ‘Diamond' security rating from UL Solutions.
