Default Can't access/run messaging!?

Earlier today I downloaded and installed the phoneAlarm v1.64. Ever since then I have not been able to open my messaging at all (email, text). Tried through every way I can think of shortcuts, menus but nothing. I uninstalled the phoneAlarm v1.64, and nothing, I did a soft reset and nothing. So, I backed up my phone with the newest version of Sprite (making sure to even exclude the cab for phoneAlarm v1.64). When I ran the backup I got a message saying "could not backup a folder called 'Inbox.mst29901604.2782057216' (I dont even know what that is), so I did a hard reset, tested the messaging upon restart and it worked but I then used the Sprite restore. Everything went back just the way it was supposed to, but again I still couldnt access or run the messaging, and I found this Inbox.mst29901604.2782057216 folder on my storage card....

I am lost..... I need my messaging for work so I'm screwed right now, as I can not even receive them either......

Worst case, as long as I can use Sprite to backup only my contacts, and I could manually reinstall everything else, ugh....... but my noobness shining through here.... I dont know how to do only my contacts......

Please save me......

yeah phone alarm has had some setup issues with WM6 and runs flaky if coinsided with some certain programs but by itself it runs fine. so basically do what tigerz said and back up your contacts and than reinstall all the apps and games that you had. what i do is make a folder on my storage card and lable it cabs and drop every program i run in there so if i have to do a hard reset therr all right there.(if only exe present ask and i can get you a cab file.) than any registration codes that i need i just type out in a word document than save it to the storage card as serials under program files. this keeps it neat fast and easily accessible. i hope this helps ya out some

Thanks for quick response guys.....

Signed up for mail2web.... it wont let me sync, it says "support code 0x80004005"

Can't find what that means, but I am guess that if for whatever reason I cant use messaging, I wont be able to sync via this method.... dang

Is there a file on the phone that contains all my contact info that I can just move a copy of to my desktop, then move it back over after the hard reset?

Did a soft reset as you suggested in the other thread, and it didnt work.

Is there another way I can back these up and effeciently restore them, like the Turbo Contact Backup, or is that a waste of time?

Ok, I don't know whats going on haha.....
after messing around with this issue for 2-3 hours I finally give up and go to sleep.... 4 hours later I am awakened by my phone going off from receiving a text, go figure. Now I just finally just had the chance I reattempted to backup my contacts via mail2web, and with all the same things entered in the fields that weren't working last night all of the sudden worked, and I did not even change anything..... So I don't know, but everything is working now.... thanks for the help guys!
