Default Micro SDHC for Touch/Vogue

I just installed a 8GB micro SDHC SanDisk card and the system recognizes the full 7782.5MB in setting/memory but the f*cking thing won't let me load any more content now that I have 1936MB in use. Also, the Perastats program indicates 2GB when it scrolls storage device memory.

WTF?! :angryfire::angryfire: Anybody else having issues with micro SDHC cards for their Touch?

Appreciate any help.

yeah basically right now what is going on is thta it will do that until the new drivers in the next rom update are released than you will be fine. to get more on there without the error of being full you iwll have to do it through the computer by using the adapter. i hope this helps ya.

Thanks D/\SH.

I figured it was something like that. It really pisses me off that the phone is listed everywhere as SDHC compatible but in actuality it is not. So f*cking aggravating.

I tried the Card Reader but it was not functioning. Will have to keep working with it. Thanks for the response and if you could keep us all apprised of the ROM update that enables the phone to pick up the SDHC capacity properly that would be tits. Looking forward to the RevA/GPS update :yahoo:

On the topic of the card reader, when I insert it the comp recognizes it just fine. However, when I move content into the drive (E in this case), it says "Please insert device storage".

I know I know, this is a dipshit question but it is pissing me off. Any luck using the MobileMate Micro Card Reader anyone?

Thanks all (esp. D/\SH)

Anything over 2GB is considered high capacity, and I have no issues with my 4GB microSDHC, so technically it does support SDHC. I think I read in a forum somewhere that someone was able to get a 6GB microSDHC to work with no problems. Quite a few devices are like that. I'm assuming it's because 8GB microSD cards are still not widely available. So while a device may support a higher SDHC (an HTC rep told me the Touch supports up to 32GB), companies usually cap the support for some reason or another. It wouldn't surprise me if it's to help generate revenue for companies like Sandisk as Memory in these SD cards increase.

As for your issue, you might try to reformat your card first, and make sure it's formatting in FAT32. If your computer is recognizing your card, there shouldn't be any issue with dragging and dropping unless there is a formatting issue. It could also be your computer lacks a driver. If your memory card is from Sandisk, their website under support has some drivers you can install if that's the problem. If that doesn't work, it just might be because your memory card is going bad. Again, Sandisk's website under support has warranty information. They cover their products for a year, so you might be able to get a replacement.

By the way, I have a Sandisk Micromate card reader, and I have no problems with it for reading and transferring files.

thanks for the insight bro i might have to bust mine open tomorrow once i get back from work and get some sleep and test the bad boy out on my touch since it works flawlessly on my mogul already...... i had a feeling that it was prolly a driver issue but wasnt quite sure. once again thanks for the input .

not repeating what the other said but just to reassuring you dstjohn, im also using the 4GB on my touch flawlessly. and yes, perasats will say that but who cares. you can go directly into the devices memory stats and find out exactly about the usage.

and yes 6GB works perfect..as my friend is using one on hers. and 8 GB is being tested by some other people i know as we speak. they just havent put enough files on there to fill it up beyond 6GB(which we already know works). and defamed01 hit it right on the money. definitely reformat the card w/a card reader on your computer first. mine came w/the reader.

You guys are tits. Reformatted that SD card and tried it again and it worked. No issues now (other than the fact that I have to put the files on the card via the card reader instead of the Sync connection but no big deal).

Thanks a million guys. :yahoo:
