Default htc apache wm6 - programming my new number

hi dash

been looking all over the net without much luck, hopefully you can help me. im in new zealand and have just bought an htc apache that already had wm6 professional installed. i called telecom and got my new phone number organised (gave them the phone's esn) but when i was given instructions to program in my new number, starting with
##482243 then talk button, all it did was try to call. the telecom guy said it was
supposed to come up with a menu. and he didnt have the codes for wm6 as its not supported yet by telecom nz. im waiting for instructions from the person i bought the apache from. in the meantime thought id try your forum

can you please help?

thanks in advance

yup what you would have to do is flashback to the original rom which can be found on your providers website. and than we have the WM6 rom here that after you get it activated that is you can reflash to it. when flashing to WM6 those call numbers to activate dont work since no one ever thought that WM6 would be working onthe apache but thanks to Helmi c that was proven wrong.

the interesting is that before he sent the phone, he asked for my number to program into the phone and when i got my phone i saw my number in the settings. i wanted to put on another number though. ill wait for his email and see what he says whether he flashed the original rom then programmed my number and then flashed wm6 on it before sending to me. thanks for your help!

ill let you know :)

aight he prolly just did it through the registry which doesnt really activate it and all. you have to actually do it through the ## numbers.

thanks Dash

followed your original instructions and flashed the phone back to the original rom , loaded my number and then flashed to wm6. first time ive actually done anything like this so im pretty happy with how easy and painless it was. my phone is connected!! :yahoo:

Was also wondering how i can applythe chicago bulls theme onto my phone. Really liked the one you showed in one of your youtube videos. I was looking in the themes section but when i clicked on a link it said not authorised to read that post or something. can you please give instructions on where to download the chicago bulls theme and how to apply it to the phone?

thanks heaps in advance

wow no need to double post. and also bro that is in the recycle bin since we lost attachments so you would ahve to request inthe request area for that to be made again by me. prolly would be a lil different and all...... but you have to sign up for the group members software or programs forget the exact name. you can find this by going to my control panel edit option look at the bar on the left than click on group memberships. give us adequate time to verify once you sign up too. Thanks. also do a quick search you would have found the reason why you could access if you did that.
